The ideal candidate demonstrates strong technical aptitude, a willingness to learn, and a passion for delivering secure, scalable, and high-quality software solutions in a collaborative Agile environment.\nResponsibilities\nDevelop, test, and maintain applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices frameworks.\nSupport the design and implementation of cloud-native applications and services.\nParticipate in the development of event-driven solutions using messaging and integration technologies.\nBuild and support API integrations between internal and external systems.\nWrite secure, maintainable, and well-tested code following established engineering standards.\nParticipate in code reviews, testing activities, and Agile development ceremonies.\nTroubleshoot and resolve application issues with guidance from senior engineers when needed.\nLearn and apply modern software engineering practices including CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and DevSecOps.\nUtilize AI-powered developer tools to increase productivity, improve code quality, and accelerate learning.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technology solutions that support business objectives.\nContinuously expand technical knowledge of cloud, microservices, APIs, and distributed systems technologies.\nQualifications\n1-3 years of software engineering or application development experience, including internships, co-ops, or equivalent hands-on experience.\nExperience developing applications using Java and Spring Boot.\nBasic understanding of microservices architecture, REST APIs, and distributed systems concepts.\nFamiliarity with cloud-native development principles and exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.\nExposure to event-driven architectures, messaging technologies, or asynchronous processing concepts.\nExperience developing, consuming, or supporting RESTful APIs and system integrations.\nUnderstanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and modern engineering practices.\nFamiliarity with source control, CI/CD pipelines, and development tools such as Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar technologies.\nKnowledge of container technologies such as Docker and exposure to Kubernetes/OpenShift concepts is a plus.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.\nEagerness to learn new technologies and contribute to modern engineering initiatives.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience through coursework, internships, personal projects, or professional experience building applications with Java, Spring Boot, APIs, or cloud technologies.\nExposure to Kafka, messaging platforms, or event-streaming technologies.\nFamiliarity with relational and NoSQL databases.\nExposure to automated testing frameworks and software quality tools.\nExperience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or similar technologies to improve coding productivity and software quality.\nInterest in cloud engineering, platform modernization, microservices, and DevOps practices.\nEducation:\nBachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience\n------------------------------------------------------\nJob Family Group:\nTechnology------------------------------------------------------\nJob Family:\nDigital Software Engineering------------------------------------------------------\nTime Type:\nFull time------------------------------------------------------\nPrimary Location:\nIrving Texas United States------------------------------------------------------\nPrimary Location Full Time Salary Range:\n$84,580.00 - $118,020.00In addition to salary, Citi’s offerings may also include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
