This is a senior role with opportunities to influence platform design, mentor other developers, and improve engineering practices.\nResponsibilities\nDesign, develop, test, and deliver Java applications supporting margin calculation.\nTranslate complex financial requirements into accurate, maintainable, and well-tested solutions.\nLead technical design for significant enhancements and contribute to the platform’s technical roadmap.\nOptimize calculation performance using concurrency, multithreading, parallel processing, caching, and efficient database access.\nDevelop high-volume batch and event-driven processing workflows.\nReview code and designs, establish development standards, and mentor other engineers.\nOwn deliverables throughout the development lifecycle, from requirements analysis through production implementation.\nInvestigate production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement long-term fixes.\nImprove monitoring, resiliency, operational support, and recovery processes.\nPartner with global technology and business teams to manage dependencies, risks, and delivery commitments.\nEnsure solutions meet security, regulatory, audit, and technology-control requirements.\nRequired Qualifications\n7+ years of professional software development experience, with strong hands-on Java expertise.\nAdvanced knowledge of core Java, including collections, streams, concurrency, multithreading, synchronization, and memory management.\nStrong experience with Spring, particularly Spring Boot, Spring Batch, Spring Integration, and Spring Data.\nExperience building high-volume, calculation-intensive, or distributed applications.\nStrong understanding of algorithms, data structures, design patterns, and clean-code principles.\nExperience with Kafka, JMS, or similar messaging technologies.\nStrong SQL and relational database experience.\nExperience with JUnit, Mockito, test-driven development, and automated integration testing.\nProven experience troubleshooting and improving application performance.\nProficiency in Linux, Git, CI/CD, and production-support practices.\nWorking knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.\nAbility to lead technical delivery and communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with margin, collateral, risk, pricing, Prime Services, or other financial platforms.\nExperience developing calculation engines or implementing complex business rules.\nExperience with large-scale batch processing and job scheduling.\nExperience with Apache Geode, GemFire, or another distributed caching technology.\nFamiliarity with Hibernate, JPA, Jackson, and related Java frameworks.\nExperience modernizing complex or legacy applications.\nExperience with application monitoring, logging, alerting, and performance profiling.\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience\nWhat we’ll provide you\nIn addition to salary, Citi’s offerings may also include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
