The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.\nResponsibilities:\nConduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas\nMonitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation as well as provide user and operational support on applications to business users\nUtilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, provide evaluation of business process, system process, and industry standards, and make evaluative judgement\nRecommend and develop security measures in post implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality\nConsult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist customer exposure systems\nEnsure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes\nServe as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts\nHas the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision. \nCan exercise independence of judgement and autonomy. \nActs as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.\nAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.\nRecommended Qualifications:\n5+ years of relevant experience\nExperience in systems analysis and programming of software applications\nExperience in managing and implementing successful projects\nWorking knowledge of consulting/project management techniques/methods\nAbility to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements\nTechnical Expertise\n Java Ecosystem: Deep, hands-on experience with Java (Java 11, 17, or 21) and core concepts (multithreading, concurrency, memory management, JVM tuning).\n Frameworks: Extensive experience with the Spring Ecosystem (Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Spring Security, Spring Data, Spring MVC).\n Architecture: Strong understanding of Microservices architecture, Domain-Driven Design (DDD), and Event-Driven Architecture.\n Databases: Proficiency with relational databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis).\nORM/Data Access: Strong experience with Hibernate, JPA, or MyBatis.\n Messaging & Streaming: Hands-on experience with message brokers and streaming platforms (Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ).\n Cloud & DevOps: Experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).\n CI/CD & Build Tools: Proficiency with Git, Maven/Gradle, and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions).\n Testing: Strong experience with testing frameworks (JUnit, Mockito, AssertJ, Testcontainers).\nProfessional & Soft Skills\nProblem Solving: Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills with a methodical approach to solving complex technical problems.\nCommunication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\n Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively in agile, cross-functional teams (Scrum/Kanban).\nLeadership: Strong ownership mindset with a track record of leading initiatives and driving them to successful completion.\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience\nThis job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
