The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis, design and programming activities. This is a senior technical position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a variety of engineering activities including the design, acquisition and deployment of hardware, software and network infrastructure in coordination with the Technology team.\nYour responsibilities will be:\nDevelop and implement complex software solutions using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, and RESTful web services.\nDesign, develop, and maintain robust microservices adhering to architectural best practices.\nApply hands-on expertise in Core Java, including multi-threading and the Collections framework.\nUtilize Spring Framework effectively for application development.\nWork extensively in creating and optimizing SQL queries.\nEnsure adherence to software engineering best practices, object-oriented programming (OOP) principles, and design patterns.\nContribute to the continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.\nManage source code effectively using tools such as Git or Bitbucket.\nPromote and apply clean coding principles and maintain high quality using tools like Sonar.\nDesign and implement comprehensive unit, integration, and functional tests to ensure solution quality.\nAnalyze and solve complex technical problems efficiently.\nLead, mentor, and manage a team of application developers, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.\nWhat we need from you:\nSignificant hands-on software engineering experience in enterprise-scale environments, with a proven track record of delivering robust, high-performance applications.\nStrong knowledge of Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, and RESTful web services (XML, JSON).\nProven experience working with Microservices Architecture.\nHands-on experience with Core Java, Multi-threading, Collections framework, and Spring Framework.\nPractical experience designing and implementing event-driven systems using Apache Kafka, including topic configuration, producer/consumer APIs, and stream processing.\nSolid understanding of software engineering best practices, OOP, design patterns, and CI/CD pipelines.\nExperience with source code management tools (Git).\nUnderstanding of clean coding principles and code quality measurements using tools like Sonar.\nDemonstrated ability to design and implement unit, integration, and functional tests.\nA strong, solution-driven mindset with the ability to analyze complex problems, devise strategic solutions, and lead their implementation.\nGood written and verbal communication skills.\nExperience with AI technology (Devin, Co Pilot)\nUnderstanding of Cloud-native development principles.\nExperience with Container Orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, etc.).\nProficiency in using Jira for tracking tasks, managing backlogs, and participating in sprint cycles.\nWhat we can offer:\nAt Citi, you will work at the intersection of data, finance, and commercial strategy, contributing to decisions that have real impact across a global organization.
