We are responsible for calculating margin requirements for OTC bilateral derivatives and optimizing margin requirements for clients by considering offsets across various financial products using models like VaR, SIMM and Credit Stress. We support traders, salespeople, risk managers, financial controllers and operations staff.\nThe Margin Java Tech Lead is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application system design and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis, design and programming activities. This is a senior technical position responsible for accomplishing results through the management of a team to drive a variety of engineering activities including the design, acquisition and deployment of hardware, software and network infrastructure in coordination with the Technology team.\nResponsibilities:\nProvide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications design/architecture, programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint.\nUtilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation.\nDevelop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals.\nGuide team to establish design standard, improving efficiency of development workflow and product rollout.\nTake ownership of smooth Production releases planning and execution\nOversee software quality and system modifications\nServe as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary.\nAnalyze existing operations to identify risks and redundancies\nConduct comprehensive assessments to develop solutions\nLiaise with team members, management to ensure projects are completed to application development and governance standard\nKeep up-to-date with industry trends and developments\nResolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards\nAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.\nQualifications:\n8+ years of relevant experience in Apps Development role with hand on coding\nMust have domain knowledge of OTC Margining\nUnderstanding of Risks (Greeks), risk calculation models like VaR/SIMM and ability to work with Quant team on risk model integration\nDemonstrated thought leadership in designing complex and distrusted systems\nIn depth knowledge of Java, Spring, Kafka, Distributed Cache/Systems (e.g. Apache Ignite)\nHads on experience with developing code using Co-pilot or similar tools\nHands on experience on relational databases like Oracle\nGreat exposure to microservices architecture.\nAPI first design thinking and implementation using Rest, websocket and gRPC\nExperience with building applications on cloud platform such as Docker, Kubernetes or OpenShift\nProven implementation of design pattern and enterprise level architecture\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills\nAble to work independently and as part of a team\nAble to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively.\nStrong organizational and project management skills\nUI tech stack knowledge will be an advantage\nExperience with designing and developing ML/GenAI solutions will be an advantage\nRepo & TBA Margining Knowledge will be an advantage\nEducation:\nA completed Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Mathematics or equivalent.\nA Master’s degree in preferred\n------------------------------------------------------\nJob Family Group:\nTechnology------------------------------------------------------\nJob Family:\nApplications Development------------------------------------------------------\nTime Type:\nFull time------------------------------------------------------\nPrimary Location:\nJersey City New Jersey United States------------------------------------------------------\nPrimary Location Full Time Salary Range:\n$176,720.00 - $265,080.00In addition to salary, Citi’s offerings may also include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
