Python Big Data Developer

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated professional with strong expertise in Python, Unix, Big Data technologies, and Production Support within the Banking/Financial Services domain. The candidate will be responsible for developing automation solutions, supporting critical batch processing environments, performing data analysis, and ensuring operational stability across enterprise-scale data platforms.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Python scripting, Unix Shell scripting, AutoSys scheduling, SQL, and Big Data technologies such as Hive, Hadoop, and Pyspark. Experience with Ab Initio platforms and Control Center will be an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain automation solutions using Python and Shell scripting.
• Support and monitor enterprise batch processing environments using AutoSys.
• Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventive solutions.
• Work with Big Data platforms including Hive, Hadoop, and Pyspark for data processing and analysis.
• Perform SQL-based data validations, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
• Develop and execute unit testing for automation scripts and support utilities.
• Monitor ETL workflows and coordinate issue resolution across support teams.
• Create and maintain operational documentation, runbooks, and support procedures.
• Manage incidents, service requests, defects, and change records through JIRA.
• Collaborate with business, development, and infrastructure teams to ensure application stability.

Mandatory Skills

• 3-6 years of strong hands-on experience in Python scripting and automation development
• Strong Unix/Linux and Shell Scripting skills
• Extensive experience with AutoSys Scheduling
• Strong SQL and Oracle database knowledge
• Hands-on exposure to Hive, Hadoop, and Pyspark
• Experience using JIRA and Zephyr
• Experience in production support and batch operations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Banking / Financial Services domain experience

Preferred Skills

• Ab Initio platform experience
• Knowledge of Ab Initio Control Center (CC)
• Control-M exposure
• ETL development and data integration experience
• Incident, Change, and Problem Management processes
• Release support and environment certification activities

Nice to Have

• Regulatory Reporting or Finance Technology exposure
• Data Warehousing background
• CI/CD and DevOps exposure
