The IT Quality Lead (AVP) is a senior technical leadership role responsible for designing, implementing, and scaling comprehensive test automation strategies and frameworks across our application ecosystem. This role combines hands-on framework architecture with technical leadership, driving engineering excellence, and integrating automated testing into our CI/CD pipelines to support rapid, high-quality software delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Automation Strategy & Architecture: Design, build, and maintain scalable, robust, and reusable test automation frameworks (UI, API, and Mobile) from scratch.
- Technical Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of QA and automation engineers, establishing coding standards, conducting code reviews, and driving best practices in test engineering.
- CI/CD Integration: Collaborate with DevOps and Development teams to integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins/Tekton), establishing automated quality gates for continuous deployment.
- Test Planning & Execution: Define test automation roadmaps, estimate automation efforts, and collaborate with product owners to align testing with sprint goals in an Agile environment.
- Metrics & Reporting: Establish, track, and report on key quality and automation metrics (e.g., test coverage, execution pass rates, defect leakage) to senior stakeholders.
- Risk & Compliance: Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding assets by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 8+ years of experience in software quality engineering, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience in test automation framework development.
- Programming Languages: Strong proficiency in at least one object-oriented programming language (e.g., Java, Python, C#) or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Automation Tools: Hands-on expertise with industry-standard automation tools such as Selenium WebDriver, Cypress, Playwright, or Appium.
- API Testing: Proven experience in automated API testing using RestAssured, Postman, or Karate.
- DevOps & Tools: Solid understanding of CI/CD concepts and tools (Jenkins, Git, Bitbucket, Tekton) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes/OpenShift).
- Database Skills: Strong proficiency in writing complex SQL queries for data validation and backend testing.
- Methodology: Deep understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) / Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices.
Education:
- Bachelor’s/University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience.
