This role partners with application developers, data engineers, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions that support critical business processes and reporting needs.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign, develop, maintain, and optimize database solutions across multiple platforms, including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and other relational database technologies.\nDevelop and maintain database objects such as stored procedures, functions, views, triggers, packages, and schemas.\nCreate and optimize complex SQL queries to support application, reporting, and analytical requirements.\nDesign, develop, support, and troubleshoot ETL/ELT processes for data integration and transformation.\nSchedule, monitor, and support batch processing and data integration jobs using AutoSys or similar enterprise scheduling tools.\nDevelop and maintain automation scripts using Unix/Linux shell scripting, PowerShell, Python, or equivalent scripting languages.\nPerform database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and capacity planning.\nSupport database deployment activities and maintain development, testing, and production environments.\nImplement database security standards, access controls, encryption, and auditing requirements.\nCollaborate with application development teams to design efficient and scalable data models and database architectures.\nSupport system upgrades, database migrations, and cloud modernization initiatives.\nTroubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement sustainable solutions.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and support runbooks.\nParticipate in on-call support and production release activities as required.\nRequired Experience and Technical Skills\n10+ years of hands-on experience with application development, with a strong focus on database development\nStrong experience with SQL development across multiple database platforms, including: Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL), Oracle (PL/SQL), MySQL, etc.\nStrong database design, normalization, and data modeling expertise.\nHands-on experience with ETL development and support.\nExperience scheduling and managing batch jobs using AutoSys or similar enterprise schedulers.\nStrong Unix/Linux administration and shell scripting experience.\nExperience with scripting languages such as Unix, Python, PowerShell, etc\nExpertise in database performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, and monitoring.\nExperience with source control tools such as Git, Bitbucket, GitHub, or Azure DevOps.\nKnowledge of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and large-scale data processing.\nEducation\nMaster's degree in Computer Science or Statistics is preferred.\nOther Relevant Skills\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to work independently and manage multiple priorities.\nExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills.\nStrong production support and incident management experience.\nAbility to mentor junior developers and establish database development best practices.\n------------------------------------------------------\nJob Family Group:\nTechnology------------------------------------------------------\nJob Family:\nApplications Development------------------------------------------------------\nTime Type:\nFull time------------------------------------------------------\nPrimary Location:\nJersey City New Jersey United States------------------------------------------------------\nPrimary Location Full Time Salary Range:\n$142,320.00 - $213,480.00In addition to salary, Citi’s offerings may also include, for eligible employees, discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
