The successful candidate will work alongside experienced developers to build, test, and maintain web applications using React on the frontend and Java on the backend. This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their software engineering skills in a collaborative environment.\nResponsibilities:\nUtilize knowledge of applications development procedures and concepts, and basic knowledge of other technical areas to identify and define necessary system enhancements, including using script tools and analyzing/interpreting code\n\nConsult with users, clients, and other technology groups on issues, and recommend programming solutions, install, and support customer exposure systems\n\nApply fundamental knowledge of programming languages for design specifications.\n\nAnalyze applications to identify vulnerabilities and security issues, as well as conduct testing and debugging\n\nServe as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts\n\nIdentify problems, analyze information, and make evaluative judgements to recommend and implement solutions\n\nResolve issues by identifying and selecting solutions through the applications of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents\n\nHas the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision.\n\nCan exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.\n\nActs as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.\n\nAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.\n\nRole Responsibilities\nDevelop and maintain user interfaces using React.js.\n\nBuild and support backend services using Java and related frameworks.\n\nWrite clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.\n\nParticipate in code reviews and team discussions.\n\nDebug and resolve application issues.\n\nCollaborate with designers, developers, and stakeholders to deliver features.\n\nCreate and execute unit and integration tests.\n\nAssist with database design and queries.\n\nLearn and apply software development best practices.\n\nRequired Skills & Qualifications\nEducation\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).\n\nTechnical Skills\nCommercial experience of React.js, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.\n\nUnderstanding of Java\n\nFamiliarity with REST APIs.\n\nKnowledge of version control systems such as Git.\n\nKnowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies\n\nBasic understanding of SQL databases.\n\nUnderstanding of object-oriented programming concepts.\n\nExperience with Spring Boot and TypeScript would be advantageous but not essential.\n\nSoft Skills\nStrong problem-solving ability.\n\nGood communication skills.\n\nWillingness to learn and accept feedback.\n\nAbility to work effectively within a team.\n\nAttention to detail.\n\nThis job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
