Citi is one of the largest banks in the world, tracing its lineage to the City Bank of New York founded in 1812 and taking its modern shape through the 1998 merger that created Citigroup. Its most distinctive asset is a cross-border payments and treasury network unmatched by any competitor, moving trillions of dollars a day for multinational corporations, governments and other banks across roughly ninety countries. Alongside that institutional franchise it runs markets and investment banking, wealth management and a United States personal bank, and has spent recent years simplifying itself by exiting consumer operations across Asia, Europe and Latin America.

Are you looking for a career move that will put you at the heart of a global financial institution?

By Joining Citi, you will become part of a global organisation whose mission is to serve as a trusted partner to our clients by responsibly providing financial services that enable growth and economic progress.

Role Overview:

This is an excellent opportunity to join the Markets Issue Management team, working directly with senior leaders to support delivery of effective and on-time issue remediation across the Markets business at Citi.

The role combines in-depth knowledge of risk and control frameworks, remediation practices and audit validation methodologies with a strong understanding of the partnership required across the first, second and third lines of defence to achieve effective and lasting outcomes. Success in the role will require the ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders, provide robust challenge, influence decision-making, and drive accountability across a broad range of business, risk and control functions.

What you'll be doing:

  • Support effective issue management, including issue identification, root cause analysis/evaluation, remediation, closure, monitoring, reporting, change management and escalation to promote comprehensive, consistent, accurate, and timely issue resolution.

  • Provide oversight and constructive challenge over complex issue remediation portfolios, ensuring solutions deliver sustainable enhancements to the control environment.

  • Manage stakeholder engagement throughout the full lifecycle of remediation programmes effectively to drive issue resolution, influence decision making and deliver successful outcomes across business, risk, compliance, audit and technology partners.

  • Improve IA engagement by promoting awareness and knowledge of IA methodology.

  • Integrate lessons learned into the development of corrective action plans, promoting continuous improvement and timely closure of issues.

  • Leverage analytics to assess issue remediation trends, systemic control weaknesses, identify key risks, and develop actionable insights for improvement.

  • Drive adherence to Issue Management policies, standards and procedures while identifying opportunities to improve remediation effectiveness and governance.

What we'll need from you:

  • Significant experience in 1LoD control functions, audit, operational risk management, or compliance in the financial services industry.

  • Strong understanding of risk and control frameworks, including the design, assessment and execution of effective controls.

  • Ability to operate in large-scale initiatives, cross functional organizations, ambiguous environments and exhibit agility in navigating from current state to proposed solutions.

  • Demonstrated experience influencing senior executives and driving outcomes across large stakeholder groups.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify themes, assess root causes and develop practical solutions to complex problems.

  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership, with strong results orientation.

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred

What we can offer you:
