These dependencies will include but not limited to: hardware, platform, operating system, performance and load requirements, as well as contingencies with upstream and downstream systems.\nDemonstrate an advanced understanding of supported main system flows and possess a comprehensive understanding of how the system and others (i.e. architecture or infrastructure) collectively integrate to contribute towards achieving business objectives. Using this expertise, assist with the development of standards for coding, testing, debugging and implementation. This will require persuading and influencing others through strong and comprehensive communication and diplomacy skills.\nCommunicate progress, anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, identify, assess, track and mitigate issues/risks at multiple levels.\nRecognize discordant views and take part in constructive dialog to resolve them.\nWork across teams to optimize processes.\nRegularly review metrics and proactively seek out new and improved mechanisms for visibility ensuring your program stays aligned with organization objectives.\nContinuously assess development processes, test plans, and operations.\nWork with teams to improve concurrent project delivery.\nStreamline and / or eliminate excess process in any area of architecture, build, delivery, production operations environment, or business area where the same efforts (or issues) are repeated year-over-year.\nShare knowledge with the team in various forums (brown bags, engineering forums etc.) and demonstrate a higher level of knowledge through industry certifications\nAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.\nRecommended Qualifications:\n5+ years of development experience, with strong hands-on expertise in Java backend engineering as the primary technical discipline.\nDeep proficiency in Java and Spring Boot, including the design and delivery of microservices-based, production-grade backend systems.\nSolid experience building frontend applications with Angular, including in-depth knowledge of JavaScript and functional programming patterns.\nDemonstrated ability to apply DevSecOps principles, security-first development practices, and CI/CD tooling throughout the software development lifecycle.\nExperience writing and maintaining comprehensive UI tests, with a consistent focus on quality and reliability.\nFundamental database concepts and experience with a relational database (MSSQL, Oracle) or NoSQL platforms.\nFundamental understanding of and experience with cloud platforms such as Docker, Kubernetes.\nA good understanding of Standard, Enterprise Design Patterns, and principles.\nShould have good understanding of Containers, docker deployment.\nStrong knowledge with testing frameworks like JUNIT, Cucumber, Jasmine/Mocha.\nPreferred experience in High-Speed Messaging platforms such as KAFKA.\nExperience with Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery technologies and tools.\nDemonstrated leadership and project management skills.\nConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication.\nAbility to work effectively with limited direct supervision, take end-to-end ownership of deliverables, and operate confidently in an agile development environment.\nManage all phases of the software development lifecycle, from feasibility assessment and technical planning through to construction, testing, implementation, and post-go-live support.\nEducation:\nBachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience\nThis job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
