As part of the team, you’ll collaborate closely with high-caliber engineers and deeply engaged business and product partners - working together to define and deliver the next generation of Equities technology at Citi.\nRole Overview\nCiti's Equities Technology organization is seeking an experienced, hands-on engineer to join the Equities Electronic-Execution (Electronic Trading) technology team. The person in this role will be responsible for the development and operational excellence of Citi's next-generation low-latency connectivity platforms. This encompasses critical components including low-latency Exchange & Client Connectivity, Order Management, Algo access as well as Direct Market Access (DMA).\nThe successful candidate will join a cross-functional team of engineers who partner with product development, quantitative research, technology infrastructure, and production support for the NAM region and beyond. This role requires an engineer who can align closely with the global strategy, drive execution regionally as well as within a global team and platform while helping to inspire a culture of innovation and engineering excellence.\nResponsibilities:\nPartner with various business and technology stakeholders to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements\nResolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards\nChampion and enforce best practices in software development, including automated testing, quality engineering, and performance optimization. Continuously enhance testing frameworks and development environments to ensure platform reliability at scale.\nDevelop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals. Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions\nHelp provide mentorship for junior developers within a geographically distributed team of high-performing engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.\nLeverage Citi's suite of AI-powered development tools throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to maximize productivity, code quality, and innovation.\nContribute to the design, creation and maintenance of robust, common solutions for platform monitoring, reconciliation, application recovery, and other essential support functions to guarantee production stability.\nAppropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.\nRecommended Qualifications:\n6-10 years of relevant experience in Apps Development in financial technology with experience in low latency development in Java\nExperience of low-latency system design, including performance optimization, concurrency, high-throughput architecture, and network protocols.\nExperience in managing and implementing successful projects\nAbility to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate\nDemonstrated leadership and project management skills\nConsistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication\nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience\nThis job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
