Help solve real-world challenges that touch millions and get the opportunity to build the future of finance with Citi Tech.\nThis role is a part of a central SRE enablement team within Services Production, working closely with SREs, developers, and platform teams .\nThis is a hands-on engineering role focused on enhancing production reliability through the development of reusable automation, recovery frameworks, and support for enterprise-wide initiatives.\nKey Responsibilities:\nContribute to the delivery of reusable automation solutions and reliability frameworks to support LoB teams and reduce operational burden. \nAutomate toil and build internal tooling in Python, Go or similar; set and measure toil-reduction goals \nWork with SREs across Services to identify automation opportunities, share reusable tooling, and improve adoption of production engineering standards. \nMaintain and contribute to the central production engineering backlog using Jira, helping prioritize and organize workstreams aligned to Services Technology needs. \nReview architecture and production-readiness for new services; partner with developers on reliability best practices \nSupport the development of utilities, scripts, and templates to improve production support effectiveness and reduce manual intervention. \nEngage in the Services Production Engineering Forum, collaborating with other engineers to share knowledge and resolve common challenges. \nStrong foundational knowledge of AI/ML concepts, including machine learning models, natural language processing (NLP), and data pipelines. \nExperience with cloud computing platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform. \nFamiliarity with monitoring tools such as Splunk, ITRS, Grafana, GCO, ELK Stack, Datadog, with the ability to use these platforms to detect, investigate, and resolve issues. \nKnowledge of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles, with an understanding of system reliability, availability, and stability practices. \nExperience using issue tracking and problem management tools to log, report, and manage incidents through to resolution. \nClear and concise written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. \nBeneficial Skills & Qualifications\nScripting ability in Python or similar languages, supporting automation, diagnostics, or tooling improvements within the support function. \nUnderstanding of financial markets and products, providing useful context when supporting trading or business-facing applications. \nExperience contributing to process improvement or standardization initiatives within a technology support environment. \nFamiliarity with how application support integrates across broader technology functions, and an awareness of its commercial impact. \nQualifications:\nExperience in SRE or Engineering roles with a strong focus on automation, resiliency, and tooling. \nProficiency in one or more scripting or automation languages (e.g., Python, Bash, Terraform, Ansible, YAML). \nStrong understanding of CI/CD workflows, Agile delivery, and reliability integration into development pipelines. \nFamiliarity with capacity planning, telemetry, and using production data to improve service operations. \nExperience supporting or developing tools across hybrid platforms (on-prem, cloud, and containers like ECS/Kubernetes). \nGood communication skills \nCuriosity and adaptability - a strong interest in experimentation, innovation, and continuous learning in the SRE domain. \nEducation:\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. \nWhat we’ll provide you:\nBy joining Citi, you will not only be part of a business casual workplace with a hybrid working model (up to 2 days working at home per week), but also receive a competitive base salary (which is annually reviewed), and enjoy a whole host of additional benefits such as:\n· 27 days annual leave (plus bank holidays)\n· A discretional annual performance related bonus\n· Private Medical Care & Life Insurance\n· Employee Assistance Program\n· Pension Plan\n· Paid Parental Leave\n· Special discounts for employees, family, and friends\n· Access to an array of learning and development resources\nAlongside these benefits Citi is committed to ensuring our workplace is where everyone feels comfortable coming to work as their whole self, every day.
