The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities:

Role Overview
The TechOps L3 Analyst is a seasoned technical operations role dedicated to driving production stability, reliability, and operational effectiveness for enterprise applications. This is strictly an L3 Operational and Technical Support role, not a full-time software development role. However, the position requires a high degree of code comfortability.
The ideal candidate must be capable of reading and traversing full-stack application codebases, identifying deep-seated production defects, and writing/deploying minor code bug fixes and hotfixes when required. You will own production issue resolution, release deployments, incident/problem management, and environment reliability across a distributed microservices environment.
Key Responsibilities
Production Stability & L3 Support
Serve as the senior escalation tier (L3) for complex production incidents, performing start-of-day health checks, continuous monitoring, and regional shift handovers.
Evaluate complex, variable production issues with high business impact, balancing immediate restoration of service with long-term stabilization.
Adhere strictly to Service Level Agreements (SLAs), assessing risk and impact while managing business and technical communications during high-severity events.
Code-Level Troubleshooting & Minor Fixes
Traverse and debug application code across the backend and frontend to trace failure paths and isolate bugs.
Develop, test, and push minor code hotfixes, operational patches, and script updates to remediate recurring issues or operational gaps
Partner with core application development teams to prioritize structural bug fixes and define support tooling requirements.
Incident, Problem & Release Management
Drive end-to-end Problem Management, performing root cause analysis (RCA) and post-implementation reviews to prevent incident recurrence.
Manage release delivery into production, participating in deployment pipelines, release verification, and post-deployment monitoring.
* Formulate contingency planning and review application resiliency to maintain high availability across operating environments.
Infrastructure, Data & Observability
* Monitor messaging pipelines, system metrics, and log aggregation tools to proactively identify performance bottlenecks or failures.
* Execute diagnostic queries and data patches across relational and non-relational database systems.
* Deploy and support application components running on container orchestration platforms.
Governance, Risk & Leadership
* Drive Support Project items focused on Stability, Efficiency, and Effectiveness initiatives.
* Act as an advisor and mentor to L1/L2 or junior support analysts, sharing domain and technical knowledge.
* Safeguard firm assets by demonstrating risk awareness, complying with audit and change-control policies, and managing control issues transparently.
Technical Stack Requirements
* Core Languages & Frameworks: Java, Spring Boot, Angular (ability to navigate, debug, and issue minor fixes)
* Databases: Oracle, SQL, MongoDB
* Event Streaming & Messaging: Apache Kafka
* Observability & Monitoring: Kibana, Grafana
* Hosting & Containerization: Red Hat OpenShift
* ITS & Operations Tools: Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, Release Automation tools
Qualifications & Skills
Experience: 7 to 9 years of hands-on experience in an L3 Application Support or TechOps role supporting enterprise-grade, distributed business applications.
Code Proficiency: Strong ability to read, navigate, and perform minor bug fixes in Java and Spring Boot microservices, alongside Angular frontend codebases.
Database & Querying Skills: Strong command of SQL for Oracle DBs and querying capabilities for MongoDB to analyze operational data inconsistencies.
Operational Disciplines: Expertise in ITIL frameworks encompassing Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management.
Soft Skills : Excellent communication, analytical, and diplomacy skills to exchange complex technical information clearly with non-technical business partners and engineering leads.
