The Wealth Planning Advisor is a strategic professional within the International Personal Bank (IPB), specializing in insurance. This role focuses on providing comprehensive and detailed wealth planning advice to clients in Greater China /North Asia, leveraging deep expertise in insurance products and strategies. The Advisor acts as a technical authority, contributing to the bank's strategic objectives by ensuring client solutions are aligned with their financial goals and regulatory requirements. This individual possesses advanced communication and diplomacy skills, leveraging the support of Client Advisors and Market Managers, and interacts directly with high-net-worth clients. The role requires a strong understanding of market dynamics, regulatory landscapes, and ethical considerations, with a significant impact on client satisfaction and overall business effectiveness.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Client Advisors and Market Managers within IPB to deliver comprehensive wealth planning advice and insurance solutions to high-net-worth clients.
  • Act as a primary subject matter expert on insurance products, wealth planning concepts, and relevant regulatory frameworks within an offshore banking context.
  • Provide in-depth analysis and customized wealth plans tailored to individual client needs, ensuring alignment with their long-term financial objectives and risk profiles.
  • Maintain continuous and up-to-date knowledge of new insurance products, industry trends, regulatory changes, and economic developments relevant to wealth planning in Greater China /North Asia
  • Leverage and coordinate with internal and external specialists (e.g., product specialists, legal) to ensure holistic and expert-driven client advice.
  • Partner with product support teams to facilitate efficient case management, solution design, and policy implementation.
  • Provide high-quality advisory support and clear communication to Client Advisors, Market Managers, and clients, ensuring transparency and understanding of complex insurance and wealth planning strategies.
  • Participate in and present at client events, educational seminars, and workshops to share insights on wealth planning strategies and insurance solutions, fostering client engagement and understanding.
  • Travel within the region as required.
  • Appropriately assess and manage risks associated with wealth planning recommendations, upholding the firm's reputation and safeguarding client interests. This includes adhering to all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and internal policies, exercising sound ethical judgment, and transparently escalating and reporting control issues.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently across Greater China /North Asia.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum University Degree qualified.
  • 5-8 years of experience in wealth planning advisory or insurance advisory roles, preferably within an offshore banking or financial services environment.
  • Proven expertise in managing client relationships and providing comprehensive financial advice.
  • Broad understanding of financial services, diverse insurance product solutions, and all aspects of wealth planning strategies and concepts (e.g., estate planning, retirement planning, legacy planning).
  • Exceptional client-centric skills, including outstanding interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities, with a strong emphasis on clarity and diplomacy.
  • CMFAS papers (M5, M9, M9A, HI) or equivalent international certifications, as required by regulatory standards.
