COMMUNITY COORDINATOR

The mission of the New York City Police Department is to enhance the quality of life in New York City by working in partnership with the community to enforce the law, preserve peace, protect the people, reduce fear, and maintain order. The New York City Police Department strives to foster a safe and fair city through the strategic deployment of resources, focusing on both crime prevention and addressing quality-of-life concerns while building lasting community relationships.

The New York City Police Department Human Resources Division, Pre-Employment Services Unit seeks one (1) Community Coordinator to assist with Department operations. The selected candidate will perform the following duties, which include, but are not limited to:

- Attend recruitment and networking events representing the NYPD

- Screen potential candidates for employment

- Act as the liaison to Colleges and Universities we partner with for information about upcoming recruitment events.

- Manage calendar of recruitment events

- Preparing and posting job advertisements online and in print media

- Vet resumes

- Performing recruitment duties such as scheduling interviews, answering phone calls and monitoring emails.

- Special projects as assigned

COMMUNITY COORDINATOR - 56058

1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties described above; or

2. High school graduation or equivalent and six years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to the duties as described above; or

3. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.
