The City of New York is the municipal government of the largest city in the United States, formed in its present five-borough shape by the consolidation of 1898. It employs several hundred thousand people across more than eighty agencies covering education, policing, fire and emergency services, health and hospitals, sanitation, transport, housing, parks, social services and technology, making it one of the largest single employers in the country. Its Office of Technology and Innovation runs the digital services, data platforms and cybersecurity for those agencies, and the city recruits continuously across engineering, analysis, clinical, administrative and field roles.

The Department of Social Services (DSS) is comprised of the administrative units of the New York City Human Resources Administration (HRA) and the Department of Homeless Services (DHS). HRA is dedicated to fighting poverty and income inequality by providing New Yorkers in need with essential benefits such as Food Assistance and Emergency Rental Assistance. DHS is committed to preventing and addressing homelessness in New York City by employing a variety of innovative strategies to help families and individuals successfully exit shelter and return to self-sufficiency as quickly as possible.

Information Technology Services (ITS) is DSS’s technology services organization. ITS mission is to support the daily, emergent, and long-term needs of both agencies. ITS creates and enhances the technology infrastructure and computer applications that support HRA and DHS and develops applications, including a variety of client eligibility and recertification systems, case management systems, housing systems, employment/work engagement services, revenue producing computer matches, claiming systems, and personnel systems.

Under general supervision of the Director of Installation & Planning - WMS Support, with considerable latitude for the exercise of independent initiative and judgment, is responsible for overseeing and coordinating enterprise support operations related to agency infrastructure, enterprise printing, systems access, installation planning, distributed technology environments, and operational support services supporting NYC Human Resources Administration (HRA) operations citywide.

- Provide leadership and operational oversight for agency infrastructure installations, enterprise printing support, workstation deployments, connectivity services, and technology implementation activities supporting agency locations throughout the five boroughs.

- Administer and oversee WMS DNS infrastructure, including critical DNS servers supporting WMS user authentication and enterprise printing services.

- Coordinate installation, relocation, repair, replacement, removal, and lifecycle management activities as needed.

- Coordinate agency-wide infrastructure planning activities associated with relocations, office reconfigurations, restacking efforts, workstation deployments, and new site buildouts. Review floorplans, validate infrastructure requirements, and ensure all connectivity and operational needs are incorporated into project planning activities; coordinate with vendors, telecommunications providers, network teams, PMO groups, facilities personnel, and agency stakeholders regarding network installations, structured cabling, hardware deployments, site readiness activities, infrastructure upgrades, and agency relocation projects; process requests for WMS user additions, deletions, modifications, workstation IDs, printer configurations, and system access changes.
