This role clarifies objectives, scope and success measures, secures resources, coordinates the efforts of team members and manages schedule, budget, risks, and quality throughout the project lifecycle.\nDuties & Responsibilities\nDevelops project charters to define project scope, goals, objectives, assumptions, constraints and deliverables in collaboration with project sponsor and stakeholders.\nEstablishes and manages multiple related projects, schedules, timelines, budgets, expectations, resources, budgets, project milestones, deliverables, issues, risks, and timely communication with team members and stakeholders.\nEstimates resource requirements and skills required to complete project tasks and negotiates resources from within the applicable business division and Strategy and Transformation Division.\nDefines project success criteria, and key performance indicators, and reports status and outcomes to stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.\nIdentifies and manages project dependencies, critical path and integration points to minimize risk and avoid schedule impacts.\nDevelops and delivers progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.\nLeads project close-out activities including lessons learned and post-implementation reviews to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.\nSupports the lifecycle of a project including developing business case; initiates, plans and controls project, and prepares forecast of short and long-term projects.\nSupervises, coaches, mentors, & motivates project team members, encourages positive action and accountability for assigned work, and promotes a collaborative, results focused team environment.\nPerforms other related duties as required.\nQualifications\nEducation, Training and Experience Requirements\nUniversity degree in computational science, commerce, business administration, project management or related discipline.\nSeven to nine years of direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of project initiation, planning, execution and completion.\nPossession of a Project management certification such as Project Management Institute (PMI) Project Management Professional (PMP) and Program Management Professional (PgMP) preferred.\nKnowledge, Abilities and Skills\nConsiderable knowledge with project management software, such as Microsoft Project or Microsoft Planner or similar.\nAbility to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment\nAbility to manage shifting priorities, demands and timelines\nAbility to express ideas and concepts effectively, orally and writing, including the ability to prepare and present oral and written reports of a specialized nature.\nAbility to deal courteously and tactfully with suppliers, the public and other civic employees.\nAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships.\nRequires Security Check\nAcceptable current Criminal Record Check (CRC) upon offer of employment.\nWeekly Hours: 36.67\nSalary Range: $93,293.52 to $109,486.56 CAD per annum (2026 rates)\nDiversity, Equity and Inclusion\nThe City of Saskatoon offers an inclusive workplace that embraces diverse backgrounds.
