Conversion Recruiters are responsible for cultivating prospective candidates sourced through marketing campaigns and Community Partnership Manager portfolios. They guide candidates through the application process and support them in taking the next steps toward serving as City Year AmeriCorps members. As a Conversion Recruiter, you will represent City Year’s mission to prospective candidates, building strong relationships with students and site stakeholders. You will play a critical role in developing and executing recruitment strategies, supporting candidates through the application process, and fostering a commitment to national service.Location: Bay Area\nHybrid Role: This role is primarily remote with 1-2 days per week in the Bay Area office. Candidates should expect to support recruitment events, participate in team meetings and trainings, and engage in service activities. Must have reliable internet access for remote or flexible work arrangements.\nJob Description\nResponsibilities\nCandidate Cultivation & Conversion\nManage a portfolio of prospective candidates from initial inquiry through application submission. \nConduct high-volume outreach through phone calls, text messages, emails, video meetings, and virtual events to engage and convert leads into applicants. \nBuild meaningful relationships with candidates by understanding their motivations, goals, and interests. \nGuide candidates through the application, providing individualized coaching and support. \nMaintain consistent follow-up cadence to maximize application completion and interview attendance. \nSupport Admission and Onboarding teams with interviewing and persistence initiatives. \nLead Management & Pipeline Ownership\nReceive, prioritize, and manage leads generated through marketing campaigns, recruitment events, partnerships, referrals, and digital engagement initiatives. \nMonitor conversion metrics across assigned candidate portfolio and implement strategies to improve outcomes. \nEvaluate candidate readiness and engagement levels to determine appropriate recruitment actions. \nMaintain accurate candidate records and activity tracking within the CRM and applicant tracking systems. \nPartnership Engagement\nCollaborate with Local Recruitment Points, Community Partnership Managers, and marketing partners to ensure seamless candidate handoff and follow-up. \nLeverage data and candidate insights with site stakeholders to inform local recruitment strategies. \nRepresent City Year's mission, service experience, and career development opportunities to prospective applicants and key stakeholders. \nSupport market recruitment initiatives designed to increase candidate engagement and persistence. \nQualifications\nRequired\nBachelor's degree or equivalent experience. \n1-3 years of experience in recruitment, admissions, sales, customer success, enrollment management, nonprofit outreach, or a related field. \nProven ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of groups, including students, cross-functional staff, and stakeholders. \nStrong interpersonal communications skills, verbal and written; ability to deliver compelling messages in both group and individual settings. \nProficiency in managing multiple priorities and projects, meeting deadlines with attention to detail. \nPreferred\nExperience in mission-driven recruitment, higher education admissions, AmeriCorps, nonprofit talent acquisition, workforce development, or youth-serving organizations. \nExperience using customer relationship management (CRM) tools or applicant tracking systems. \nFamiliarity with platforms such as Handshake or similar recruitment technologies. \nExperience working with diverse student or early-career populations. \nCompetencies \nTo succeed in this role, an applicant must have the following competencies:\nUnderstanding & Building Connection: Considers perspectives of others and cultivates relationships to strengthen interpersonal bonds with colleagues and external stakeholders. \nProject Management: Organizes, prioritizes, tracks, and manages workflow and resources. \nDecision-Making: Uses appropriate context and data to make sensible and timely decisions; displays sound judgment when faced with opportunities/challenges. \nCollaboration: Connects with stakeholders to identify shared interests; partners with others to incorporate different perspectives toward a common goal. \nTeamwork: Actively contributes to shared projects with the understanding that team success is personal success \nLearning: Strives to continuously develop and improve self, teams, and organization. \nTo Apply\nClick Apply to submit your online application.
