Now more about the position.\nThe Safety Advocate is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment at City Care facilities, ensuring the safety of staff, clients, and visitors. This role involves monitoring premises, enforcing security protocols, building proactive engagement interactions with guests, and responding to emergencies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to upholding the mission and values of City Care.\nKey Responsibilities:\nFacility Security\nMonitor all entrances, exits, and surrounding areas of City Care facilities to deter unauthorized access and ensure safety.\nConduct regular patrols of the premises, both inside and outside.\nEnsure doors, windows, and gates are locked or secured after hours.\nIncident Response\nRespond promptly to emergencies, disturbances, or security breaches, following established protocols. \nAssist staff and clients during evacuations or other emergencies.\nDevelop personalized engagement strategies for high-risk guests.\nDocument and report incidents to the Chief Operations Officer and appropriate authorities when required.\nPolicy Enforcement\nEnforce organizational policies, including access control and visitor management.\nEnsure compliance with fire safety and emergency procedures.\nConduct bag checks, screenings, or other measures as needed to maintain a secure environment.\nCollaboration & Communication\nAct as a liaison between staff, clients, and external emergency services during security-related incidents.\nProvide guidance to staff on security procedures and ensure they are well-informed about safety protocols.\nWork closely with other departments to address specific security needs or concerns.\nRecord Keeping\nMaintain accurate logs of daily activities, incidents, and other security-related documentation.\nProvide regular security updates to the Sr. Director of Facilities.\nRequirements\nSkills & Experience:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in security or law enforcement preferred.\nPrevious experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field is a plus.\nSkills and Competencies\nStrong observational and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal abilities.\nAbility to remain calm and act decisively in high-pressure situations.\nProficiency in using surveillance equipment and basic computer systems.\nMust pass a background check.\nAvailability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
