From our Network Operations Centre, you’ll oversee critical infrastructure, swiftly addressing issues to ensure high service availability. You’ll also support managed services for business customers, resolving escalated issues efficiently.\nYou’ll receive a salary of up to £45,000 and a performance related bonus.\nThis is some of what you can expect to be doing:\nInstalling, maintaining, and troubleshooting network infrastructure, including routers, circuits, firewalls, and servers\nProactively monitoring network performance using advanced monitoring tools, identifying faults, and taking action to resolve them\nResponding to alerts from core links and addressing network issues promptly to maintain uptime\nManaging escalated issues from the Tech Support Centre (TSC) for investigation and resolution\nSupporting managed services for business customers, ensuring seamless connectivity and reliability\nCoordinating with field engineers for hands-on troubleshooting when required\nWhat you’ll bring to the role\nYou’ll be a proactive and technically skilled network engineer with hands-on experience in monitoring and maintaining high-performance network environments. You’ll also have:\nExperience with Cisco IOS and IP routing protocols (e.g., BGP, ISIS)\nProven background in 1st/2nd Line Network Support and Data Centre environments\nStrong understanding of BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) and its role in network routing\nThe ability to monitor, identify, and resolve network issues swiftly and effectively\nExcellent communication skills to handle escalations and collaborate with internal teams\nLife at CityFibre\nEveryone deserves to feel heard, valued and truly included.
