You’ll also play a key role in fostering a culture where data is treated as a strategic asset.\nKey Responsibilities:\nData Stewardship & Governance Execution - Execute data governance processes within assigned data domains\nMetadata Management and Documentation - Partner with Business Data Stewards to maintain consistent business metadata, technical metadata, and lineage across governed datasets\nData Quality Management - Track recurring issues and escalate risks to the Data Governance Lead\nReporting & Analytics Enablement - Support BI and reporting teams with trusted, governed datasets\nBusiness Steward Engagement & Alignment - Facilitate alignment between business-owned data and technical data implementation (Data Products vs Data Assets in Purview)\nChange and Impact Management - Participate in data solution design and impact assessments\nData Security and Privacy Support - Support implementing governance controls for data access and classification across various BI systems, like Microsoft Fabric, Power BI Workspaces, including raw level security, as well as legacy DW in SQL Server.\nStakeholder Engagement & Education - Engage with business and technical stakeholders to relevant data governance activities.\nExperience & Expertise:\nEssential\nMinimum 5 years’ experience in a Data Steward, Data Analyst, BI, or related data role.\nDemonstrated experience in Data Governance and Stewardship, with a well-rounded understanding of data ownership, quality, governance, and accountability—not limited to reporting and analytics.\nExposure to metadata management, data lineage, and data catalogue concepts within an enterprise environment.\nHands-on experience using data governance tools.\nProven experience partnering with business stakeholders to define data definitions, business rules, and data standards.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively engage and collaborate with business SMEs.\nExperience with Microsoft Purview or other data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica Axon, Alation).\nUnderstanding of application development and software development life cycle concepts.\nDesirable\nExperience with Microsoft Purview or similar data catalogue / governance tools\nUnderstanding of Microsoft Fabric and Power BI, including governed self-service analytics\nExperience working in Agile teams with knowledge of Scrum or Kanban\nUnderstanding of data privacy, security, and regulatory requirements (e.g. APRA, GDPR fundamentals)\nTo be considered for this role you will have / be:\nBachelor's degree in information management, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field is required.\nA Master’s degree in Data Management, Business Administration, or related disciplines is preferred\nCertifications such as CDMP (Certified Data Management Professional) or DGCP (Data Governance and Compliance Professional) are highly valued. \n\nWhat’s on offer:\nExciting opportunity to grow & work within fun and supporting IT team\nFull time permanent role within growing FM organisation\nHybrid working model (WFH 2 days a week)\nFree onsite parking when in office\nIf you would like to be part of a growing Australian Facilities Management business, we would love to hear from you.\nPlease apply by sending an updated resume and cover letter.
