Join us in shaping the future of public transport by driving the next phase of CitySwift’s growth.\nAbout the Role \nAs a Data Engineering Manager in the data team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the teams and technology that drive CitySwift's data systems. You will oversee a team of talented data engineers and scientists responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our data infrastructure and pipelines. Your leadership will be instrumental in ensuring the scalability, performance, reliability and quality of our data systems, enabling the rest of the business to build products and features on a solid foundation of quality data.\nKey responsibilities\nLead and motivate a team of data engineers and scientists to deliver high-quality solutions that meet our business needs.\nIdentify and support the needs of the team as it moves through the stages of team formation.\nSupport the development and career aspirations of team members through coaching and mentorship.\nLead the recruiting of new team members as we grow and build a world-class, sustainable and diverse data team.\nDrive an efficient and effective software delivery process including managing team ceremonies and backlog.\nCollaborate with data scientists, engineers, product managers and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.\nSpend a small portion of your time actively contributing to the codebase to help out when needed but more importantly to stay close to the developer experience.\nStay up-to-date with the latest data technologies and trends through continuous learning.\nDesired Qualifications\nProven experience as a technical leader, with a strong background in data engineering.\nExtensive experience in working with teams who are designing, developing, and implementing data pipelines, architectures, and platforms.\nDeep understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and data quality principles.\nExpertise in cloud-based data platforms, such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).\nStrong proficiency in programming languages such as Python or Java.\nExcellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.\nWe value, recognise and reward our people\nA role with real scope, where your impact is visible, your salary is reviewed as we grow, and there are career progression opportunities as the company scales and internationalises. \nComprehensive health and life insurance through Laya Healthcare in Ireland and Aviva in the UK.\nFlexible working with hybrid working as the default in Ireland, core hours of 10am to 4pm, remote options depending on role and a work abroad programme of up to 6 weeks.\n25 days annual leave from day one, increasing by half a day per year of service, plus company days off, a half day before public holidays and an end of year shutdown.\nEnhanced family leave, including 6 months fully paid maternity leave and 3 weeks paid paternity leave after 18 months’ service (and wedding leave!)\nAnd on top of all of this, the usuals done well.
