This position will prepare you for a long-term career in the water wastewater utility industry. The ideal candidate will assist in operating, maintaining and monitoring water systems while working under the supervision of licensed water wastewater operator. The successful applicant will follow a rotational schedule of 14 days on and 14 days off\nResponsibilities:\nAssist with daily monitoring of Potable water systems.\nAssist in the operation and maintenance of water treatment and distribution systems\nAbility to perform \"hands-on\" field work, mastering physical demands and labor-intensive tasks, while adapting to extended hours in remote locations.\nCommitment to learning and understanding tasks at each stage of the training program, encompassing paper-work procedures, safety protocols, and the fostering of team and customer relations.\nAdherence to company policies and procedures, as well as compliance with health and safety regulations, always ensuring the maintenance of safe work practices.\nPerforms other duties as directed by supervisor. \nQualifications\nIdentifies as an Indigenous person\nGrade 12 Diploma or equivalent is required\nMandatory Entry Level Training - AWWOA provides two options (only 1 is required\nEntry Level Training Course (3 days - virtual classroom -OR- self-paced correspondence learning with online or home study options))\nLevel I Certification Prep Course (4 days - in-person -OR- self-paced correspondence learning with online or home study options)\nOne year of work experience in a Level I or higher Provincially recognized facility\nPass the Provincial Certification Exam\nAbility to lift 50+ lbs\nStrong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn \nExcellent communication and organization skills.\nPositive attitude and a team-player.\nPossess a valid Class 5 Drivers license and driver abstract that meets company’s Safe Vehicle Use policy.\nMust be able to pass a pre-access Drug & Alcohol test\nWhat we offer\nMentorship\n\nA culturally inclusive and welcoming workplace\n\nOpportunities for a long-term career development\n\nSupport with training and formal qualifications\n\nWe are dedicated to employment equity and continuously strive to enhance our diversity and inclusion practices, fostering a respectful and collaborative workforce.
