Building on 21 years of continuous growth and success, we're at a pivotal point on our journey to realise that aspiration.\nWhy you’ll love this role of IT Hardware Engineer\nThis is a hands-on role at the heart of our End User Services team, helping make sure our UK colleagues have the technology they need to do their best work.\nBased from our Leeds office, you’ll take ownership of hardware throughout its lifecycle, from preparing and deploying new laptops and devices through to troubleshooting, stock management, refresh, redeployment and disposal.\nIt’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys technology but equally enjoys working with people. You don’t need to be a deep technical specialist. We’re looking for someone with good practical IT knowledge who takes ownership, communicates confidently and is keen to learn.\nYou’ll join an experienced team where you’ll have the opportunity to build your knowledge, contribute ideas and make a visible difference to the service we provide to colleagues across Civica.\nKey Responsibilities\nManage the lifecycle of laptops, desktops, mobile phones and peripherals\nPrepare, pre-provision, deploy, refresh, redeploy and decommission end-user devices\nSupport device deployment using Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot\nTroubleshoot routine hardware, deployment and device enrolment issues\nUse Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint for relevant device and compliance checks\nMaintain accurate hardware asset, stock and inventory records\nCoordinate purchasing, deliveries, returns, repairs, reuse and disposal of equipment\nCarry out hands-on device preparation, checks, wiping and stock management from our Leeds office\nManage hardware incidents and service requests through our ITSM system\nProvide occasional onsite support for meeting-room AV equipment and other end-user technology\nWork with suppliers, couriers and internal teams to ensure equipment reaches colleagues when they need it\nKeep users informed and provide a friendly, professional and responsive service\nShare knowledge with colleagues and contribute to improvements in processes, documentation and knowledge articles\nRequirements\nPrevious experience in an IT hardware, IT support, desktop support, End User Computing or similar hands-on technology role\nGood working knowledge of Windows, with practical familiarity with macOS advantageous\nExperience troubleshooting laptops, desktops, peripherals and other end-user hardware\nPractical experience with Microsoft Intune and Windows Autopilot for device preparation, enrolment and deployment\nFamiliarity with Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint\nExperience using an ITSM system to manage incidents and service requests\nExperience maintaining hardware asset and stock information\nStrong customer service and communication skills, both face-to-face and remotely\nA proactive approach, with the confidence to take ownership and get things moving\nOrganised, reliable and comfortable managing competing priorities\nA collaborative mindset and willingness to share knowledge and learn from others\nNice to have:\nExperience with IT asset management tools such as Lansweeper or Snow\nExperience supporting Apple Mac devices\nAzure Fundamentals (AZ-900)\nMicrosoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate / MD-102, or working towards this qualification\nA little more about the role\nThis is an operational hardware and device-delivery position rather than an endpoint engineering role. You’ll use tools including Intune, Autopilot and Entra ID to prepare devices and resolve routine deployment and enrolment issues, working alongside our specialist Modern Workplace and Security teams where deeper platform, policy or security expertise is required.\nThe role is based in our Leeds office five days a week due to the hands-on nature of preparing, managing and distributing physical IT equipment.
