Working closely with the Staff Security Engineer, you’ll help protect Civica’s digital and physical assets across the UK, India, Australia and Singapore.\nYou’ll have the opportunity to:\nInvestigate and respond to escalated security incidents, helping identify root causes and drive resolution.\nWork hands-on with technologies including SIEM, DLP, antivirus/antimalware and XDR solutions.\nSupport the remediation of security threats and vulnerabilities identified through the SOC, threat intelligence, vulnerability scanning and penetration testing.\nHelp manage remediation plans and track vulnerabilities through to resolution.\nCreate regular security reports and provide meaningful security insights to management.\nCollaborate with IT and business teams to strengthen the security of systems, infrastructure and data.\nSupport major security incidents outside normal working hours when required.\nWork within established change-control and documentation standards.\nEngage with colleagues and customers across the wider Civica organisation.\nShare knowledge with fellow team members and contribute to developing security capability across the team.\nSupport the development and implementation of security policies, procedures and standards.\nWhy it stands out: You’ll gain exposure to both operational security and vulnerability management while working across a global environment, making this an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their technical cyber security career\nRequirements\nEssential competencies\nMinimum 5 to 8 years’ experience working in IT and currently working in a security-based role.\nExcellent problem-solving skills and the ability to “think outside the box” under pressure \nExcellent customer facing and organisational skills and a desire to deliver correctly first time. \nKnowledge and understanding of designing and implementing security in an enterprise environment. \nGood Team worker with excellent communication skills \nKnowledge of investigating issues using SIEM tools and other security logging services\nExperience of working in or with a Security Operations Centre and managing security issues and incidents.\nExperience with Microsoft Sentinel, Defender, use of playbooks, automation skills\nManaging Vulnerability management tools.\nSecuring and providing technical governance around the use of AI within a corporate environment \nCloud platforms (i.e., Azure / AWS) · Virtualization principles & technologies · Common Networking principles \nSecurity principles and operations\n Firewall, IDS/IPS configuration \nEmail and Web filtering services and configuration \nSecurity Incident Response and Handling techniques \nLog management and filtering solutions \nWindows Server based systems including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, NPS, RDS, DFS, Hyper-V\nConducting security research and staying current with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies.\nPreferred skills\nVendor certified qualifications for administrating Cloud environments, Operating Systems, Storage Devices and mainstream software products\nExposure and working knowledge supporting LANs/WLANs\nKnowledge of Distributed Systems (in both low and high latency environments)\nKnowledge of Linux / Unix, VMware, HyperV \nExperience working in a DevOps environment \nQualifications\nCISSP/CCSP/SSCP/CEH/CompTIA Security+ accreditation or equivalent practical experience.\nQualifications in Azure/AWS or other cloud environments or equivalent practical experience.\nITIL qualifications or equivalent practical experience.\nBenefits\nWhy you'll love working with us.\nWe know that when our people are happy, they will work better and have greater work satisfaction.
