Why you will love this opportunity as Software and Product Trainer in our Elections and Democracy team

This is an exciting opportunity to join Civica’s Democracy team, supporting local authorities and contributing to the delivery of vital democratic services. You’ll help customers and colleagues get the most from Civica’s electoral software products by combining your software training expertise with your ability to create engaging learning materials that build users’ knowledge and confidence.

We’re particularly interested in people with experience delivering software or product training and developing engaging training guides and e-learning content.

What you will do to be successful in this role

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop engaging product training for delivery through e-learning, Microsoft Teams and face-to-face sessions.
  • Deliver clear and effective training on Civica Xpress and Civica Electoral Management products to customers and internal colleagues.
  • Create and maintain training guides, exercises, workshops, documentation and online learning content.
  • Support customers with product-related questions, providing guidance remotely and at customer locations.
  • Build your knowledge of Civica’s electoral products, electoral services and relevant legislation to ensure training remains accurate and up to date.
  • Deliver product demonstrations to prospective customers and contribute to user groups and conferences.
  • Work collaboratively with the Xpress Support team, including providing additional customer support during busy election periods.

Requirements

  • Experience delivering software, product or technology-based training, including creating training guides, learning materials or e-learning content.
  • Confident presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly to audiences with different levels of experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, alongside a customer-focused and supportive approach.
  • Good general IT skills, including experience with presentation, word-processing, spreadsheet and online collaboration tools.
  • Proactive, organised and self-motivated, with the ability to manage competing priorities independently and a willingness to learn Civica’s products and the electoral services environment.

Previous experience of elections, electoral registration or Civica Xpress is not required. An AEA Certificate would be beneficial but is not essential.
