Founded by industry insiders, each with 10+ years in utilities and civil engineering, we move fast, ship work that matters, and stay close to the customers and field teams we build for.\nWHY THIS ROLE\nAs a GIS Analyst, you will be on the front lines of building and maintaining CivilGrid’s core asset: verified utility data. Through hands-on digitization, spatial data research, and geodatabase maintenance, you will directly build datasets that empower engineers with centralized site data.\nThis is a hybrid role based in our downtown Kansas City, MO office with 2 days a week onsite. We are only considering candidates already based in the KC area at this time.\nWHAT YOU'LL DO\nResearch spatial and non-spatial datasets to grow our utility data footprint\n\nDigitization of non-spatial datasets increasing the accuracy of site data\n\nDaily utilization of GIS products and spatial databases: ArcGIS Pro, QGIS, SQL, Internal Applications\n\nInterpret maps and drawings to key internal and external stakeholders\n\nConsistent collaboration with our Utility Research Coordinators and Digitization Project Managers\n\nProcess data using ETL workflows/scripts\n\nQA/QC of converted GIS data\n\nWHAT YOU'LL BRING\nBachelor’s Degree in GIS adjacent field (GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science, etc.)\n\nProficiency in GIS software (ESRI or QGIS)\n\nKnowledge of geospatial data formats (Geodatabase, Shapefile, GeoJSON, KML, CSV, REST Service, etc.)\n\nBasic SQL skills\n\nExperience with project management\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\n\nDetail-oriented and self-motivated, ability to operate independently working remotely\n\nEagerness to learn\n\nBONUS POINTS\nExperience working with utilities and/or government agencies\n\nExperience with Python (ArcPy, Geopandas, Pandas)\n\nExperience with ArcGIS Server\n\nHOW WE WORK\nWe're a small, but rapidly growing team that ships. We hire people who care deeply about their craft and the communities our customers serve.\nCOMPENSATION & BENEFITS\nThe base salary range for this role in Kansas City is$50,000 - $70,000\nBase salary is only one part of your total compensation package at CivilGrid, which also includes meaningful early-stage equity, comprehensive benefits, and the opportunity to shape a category-defining company.
