plans\ncomputerized manufacturing procedures, designs tooling, and designs and modifies\ncomputerized job production programs; prepares instructions for setup and operation of \nCNC equipment; performs test run on new programs; maintains work records; and\nperforms related duties as assigned. \n\nReports to: \nMachine Shop Manager \n\nExamples of Duties and Responsibilities:\nFormulates programs using CAD/CAM system working from engineering designs and specifications. \nPlans processes and production run set-up by determining optimum cutter paths, speeds and feed rates. \nEstabl­ishes types of tooling to be used in machining processes. \nRecommends all tooling needed for manufacturing parts. \nPrepares complete instructions for set-up and operation of CNC machines, including tool types, sizes, grades, and definitions. \nDevelop programs. \nPerform test runs on new programs making sure they are of high quality and in safe operating condition. \nMaintains updates and edits all CNC programs. \nComplete and maintain work records. \nMaintain CNC computer equipment. \nRegular punctuality, attendance, and absence reporting in conformance with company policies is essential to the successful performance of this position; and \nFully comply with company rules, policies, procedures, and safety guidelines to ensure safe and effective operations. \nQUALIFICATIONS GUIDELINES: \nAny combination equivalent of, but not limited to, the following: \n\nExperience/Training/Education: \nA Minimum of 2 to 4 years programming experience using Master Cam, programming CNC \nmills and lathes in a production environment 2 to 4 years' experience operating various \ntypes of CNC machines in a production environment is desirable. \n\nKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:\nAbility to operate computer to access, edit, and maintain company documentation and files, as required for assigned position and/or job at hand;\nConsiderable knowledge of CNC machine tool operations. \nKnowledge of safe work practices and techniques.\nAbility to read and interpret engineering designs and specifications. \nAbility to organize and lay out own work. \nAbility to work under general supervision. \nAbility to compile and maintain accurate work records; and \nAbility to communicate and work cooperatively with others. \nAbility to interact with other departments as required. \nKnowledge of trigonometry applications associated with CAD/CAM applications.\nKnowledge of G-Code and Canned Cycles. \nKnowledge and application of correct SFM based on material and machine conditions along with Material Removal Rates \nKnowledge of supporting software and applications associated with CAD/CAM Software.\n Physical Requirements: \nAbility to bend, lift, move and carry tools and materials weighing up to 25 pounds \nAbility to perform essential functions of the job, as defined;
