We meet Americans at their place of work by embedding our products within the scheduling, workforce management, and payroll apps they already use every day.\nLearn more about us at getclair.com/about\nAbout the Role\nAs an Analytics Engineer, you'll sit at the intersection of engineering and analytics, helping build Clair's data pipelines, modeling clean and trustworthy data sets, and collaborating with stakeholders across the organization (Product, Operations, and Finance, to name a few). You'll play a key role in improving our data quality and contributing to our data architecture as it evolves. Your primary stakeholder will be the analytics team. Partnering with data analysts and data scientists, you'll help design, develop, and deliver well-modeled, cost-efficient data models that power the analyses driving decision-making at Clair.\nSome examples of what you'll do…\nModel data from our products into flexible, trusted analytic reporting tables\n\nHelp maintain and extend data pipelines that move data from source systems into Snowflake (e.g., CDC streams, batch ingestion)\n\nBuild and maintain scheduled Python jobs for data processing and automation\n\nSupport the data science team by building model feature pipelines\n\nHelp build new data management processes to maintain the integrity of production reporting environments\n\nHelp identify and optimize Snowflake computing cost bottlenecks\n\nContribute to and help maintain a code style guide across our dbt project(s)\n\nKey Responsibilities\nContribute to Clair's ELT pipeline and help apply best practices in modeling, testing, documentation, and observability\n\nSupport and improve data ingestion pipelines, including CDC replication from Postgres via Kafka and batch loading through Airbyte\n\nDevelop and maintain Python-based data jobs that run on a scheduled basis in Snowflake\n\nBuild and maintain data models using dbt that power analytics and business decisions\n\nIngest and model data from new source systems to incorporate them into the data warehouse\n\nPartner with analysts, engineers, and business stakeholders to help define metrics, data definitions, and governance standards\n\nSupport data governance, access control, and monitoring efforts across the data stack\n\nIdentify data quality issues and help resolve root causes\n\nContribute ideas and input as we scale the data function\n\nOccasionally support the analytics team with ad-hoc or high-priority analysis\n\nQualifications\n3-4 years of professional experience in the data analytics field\n\nStrong SQL proficiency\n\n1-2 years hands-on experience modeling data with dbt in a production environment\n\nFamiliarity with cloud data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift)\n\nFamiliarity with data ingestion and orchestration tools (e.g., Airbyte, Kafka, Airflow)\n\nUnderstanding of data modeling concepts (dimensional modeling, Kimball, etc.)\n\nExperience with a scripting language like Python or R\n\nExposure to CDC pipelines, event streaming, or real-time data ingestion is a plus\n\nComfortable working in - or excited to work in - a high-growth start-up environment\n\nStrong communication skills, with the ability to translate technical work into clear business value\n\nAdditional Details\nLocation: This is a hybrid position based in New York City; you will be expected to come into the office at least three days a week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays) with additional days on occasion for client meetings.\nCompensation: The annual base salary for this role is $140,000 - $150,000. The base pay for this role is determined using many factors, such as education, skills, and experience, and is reflective of Clair Series stage and size. Base pay is only one part of Clair’s competitive total compensation package, which includes equity, benefits, and additional perks.
