Responsibilities: Assess student performance and document academic progress. Coordinate with educators, related service providers, and families. Implement educational plans and support progress toward IEP goals. Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student-centered planning. Maintain organized records and required special education documentation. Promote student engagement, skill development, and increasing independence. Deliver targeted instruction to students in grades 3-5 within a resource-room setting. Adapt lessons, materials, and teaching methods to address individual learning needs.
Requirements Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution. Previous school-based special education experience is preferred. Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with an appropriate special education endorsement. Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS I) endorsement/credential appropriate for the students and grade levels served.
