As a Financial Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the financial management of clinical research projects by partnering with Project Managers to monitor project budgets, forecast revenue, oversee billing activities, and ensure accurate financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle. What You'll Be Doing
- Establish and maintain financial project trackers for awarded contracts to monitor revenues, professional fees, pass-through expenses, project milestones, and overall financial performance.
- Create and maintain funding agreements within financial systems to accurately track contractual commitments and project funding.
- Develop initial and ongoing revenue forecasts, including deferred revenue and pass-through expense considerations.
- Partner closely with Project Managers to review budgets and develop change orders based on actual project activity, financial trends, and scope modifications.
- Create billing schedules for change orders and ensure invoices are generated accurately and in alignment with client agreements and project timelines.
- Update project trackers and financial budgets to reflect approved project amendments and scope changes.
- Prepare and submit accurate invoices for assigned projects while ensuring all billable services and expenses are properly recorded and tracked.
- Record and recognize project revenue in accordance with company policies and applicable accounting standards.
- Monitor actual project fees and expenses against approved budgets and proactively identify and address financial variances.
- Support collections activities by communicating with clients regarding outstanding invoices and resolving billing-related inquiries.
- Prepare financial reconciliations, accruals, and ad hoc financial analyses to support client requests and business decision-making.
- Maintain accurate financial records and provide timely financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with finance, project management, and operational teams to support process improvements and ensure financial compliance.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
What We Look For
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience in financial reporting, accounting, bookkeeping, project finance, or financial analysis.
- Experience supporting financial activities within a project-based environment preferred.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including financial modeling, forecasting, reporting, and data analysis.
- Experience working with financial management, ERP, project accounting, or project management systems preferred.
- Strong understanding of budgeting, revenue forecasting, invoicing, accruals, and financial reconciliation processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Outstanding attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable insights.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- High level of professionalism, accountability, confidentiality, and customer service orientation.
