You will support customers throughout the design, analysis, integration, validation, and deployment of Maxwell energy storage solutions.\nYou will translate customer application requirements into technical solutions and provide hands-on engineering support throughout the product lifecycle. Working closely with customers, Product Management, R&D, Manufacturing, Sales, and Business Development, you will help ensure the successful adoption of Maxwell technologies while supporting new business opportunities and long-term customer relationships.\nThe position will be based in our EMEA location in Hanover, Germany.\nWhat you will do\nAs Senior Application Engineer (m/f/d), your responsibilities will include:\nCustomer Application Support\nServe as the primary technical point of contact for customers during evaluation, design, validation, and production launch phases.\nUnderstand customer system requirements and recommend optimal product configurations and application solutions.\nPerform appropriate calculations for system sizing, power capability, thermal constraints, and related performance parameters.\nSupport customer technical reviews, design discussions, product evaluations, and troubleshooting activities.\nDevelop and deliver technical presentations, application notes, and customer training materials.\nProduct Integration & Validation\nAssist customers with the integration of Maxwell products into their systems and applications.\nSupport system-level testing, validation activities, and performance analysis.\nAnalyze test data and provide recommendations for design improvements and optimization.\nWork cross-functionally to resolve technical issues and customer concerns.\nCommercial & Business Development Support\nPartner with Sales and Business Development teams to support customer engagements and growth opportunities.\nParticipate in customer meetings, trade shows, technical workshops, and industry events.\nProvide technical input for quotations, proposals, and project assessments.\nHelp identify emerging market trends, customer needs, and competitive technologies.\nProduct Development Collaboration\nCommunicate customer requirements and market insights to product development teams.\nSupport new product introduction activities and commercialization efforts.\nContribute to product roadmap discussions by providing application and customer feedback.\nAssist in defining product specifications and requirements for future development programs.\nTechnical Documentation\nCreate and maintain technical documentation including application guides, validation reports, and technical specifications.\nDevelop best practices and design recommendations for customer applications.\nSupport technical knowledge sharing across engineering and commercial organizations.\nWhat makes you a good fit\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or related technical field.\n5+ years of engineering experience in energy storage, batteries, ultracapacitors, power electronics, automotive, industrial, or related technologies.\nExperience supporting technical customers or external stakeholders.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.\nFully fluent in German, professional fluency in English.
