The Software Project Manager serves as the primary interface between customers, engineering teams, leadership, quality, safety, and suppliers to drive successful software program execution.\nWhat You'll Do (Impact Areas)\nProject Planning & Execution\nDevelop and maintain comprehensive Software Development Plans.\nDefine project scope, schedules, milestones, deliverables, and release plans.\nBuild and manage resource plans, effort estimates, and project budgets.\nMonitor project performance and adjust plans to ensure successful delivery.\nLead project kick-offs, status reviews, and closure activities. \nProgram Delivery & Governance\nEnsure achievement of customer and internal program milestones.\nCoordinate software development activities across global and cross-functional teams.\nTrack project KPIs, delivery metrics, and release readiness.\nLead issue resolution, escalation management, and contingency planning.\nDrive continuous improvement initiatives and lessons learned activities. \nQuality, Compliance & Functional Safety\nEnsure compliance with Clarios software development processes and standards.\nSupport internal and external audits, assessments, and process reviews.\nEnsure consistency, completeness, and traceability of project work products.\nCoordinate with Functional Safety Engineers to plan, track, and implement software safety requirements.\nMaintain compliance with software engineering, quality assurance, configuration management, change management, and problem resolution processes.\nStakeholder & Customer Management\nServe as the primary software project contact for customers and internal stakeholders.\nCommunicate project status, risks, quality metrics, and release readiness.\nManage customer expectations and negotiate scope changes when needed.\nCoordinate activities with systems, hardware, validation, cybersecurity, quality, and support functions.\nFoster strong cross-functional collaboration across global teams. \nRisk & Financial Management\nEstablish and manage project budgets and financial performance.\nDevelop risk management plans and drive mitigation strategies.\nMonitor project costs, resource utilization, and schedule performance.\nEnsure effective forecasting, planning accuracy, and overall project health. \nWhat Success Looks Like\nKey Performance Indicators (KPIs)\nProject milestones achieved according to schedule and delivery commitments.\nPlanned versus actual effort maintained within agreed targets.\nManpower estimation deviation maintained below 15%.\nCost Performance Index (CPI) greater than 0.9.\nSchedule Performance Index (SPI) greater than 0.9.\nControlled defect escape rates and high-quality software releases.\nSuccessful process compliance assessments and resolution of audit findings. \nStrategic Outcomes\nSuccessful delivery of complex embedded software programs for global customers.\nStrong compliance with ASPICE, ISO 26262, and Clarios development processes.\nImproved project predictability, planning accuracy, and delivery performance.\nEffective coordination across engineering disciplines and global teams.\nIncreased customer satisfaction and stakeholder confidence.
