Working with the project team, this role is responsible for leading all aspects of the construction site and phases to achieve a successful delivery of safety, schedule, and budget while ensuring an excellent client and consultant experience.\nReports to: General Superintendent\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities:\nLeads and implements all aspects of Clark Builders Safety / Building LIFE program\nEnsures proactive project safety management and security practices in keeping with the Clark Builders Safety & Loss Prevention program and applicable legislation\nPartner with the Senior Project Leader on the delivery of the project; ensuring all project drivers including safety, schedule, budget, and client satisfaction are achieved\nLead teams through all phases of construction such as preconstruction, project site set-up and logistics\nPlans/reviews the construction program with the Project Manager and Business Development/Estimating staff including procedures, temporary facilities, construction procedures, equipment and manpower\nChampion and implement LEED and Last Planner strategies on the project to support ongoing continuous improvement and achieving project efficiencies\nManage employee performance and development, give constructive feedback and support recruitment\nParticipate in Clark Builders University (CBU) initiatives to further personal growth and knowledge base\nAct as a liaison between Field Operations and other departments\nSupport the Project Manager in project forecasts and oversee project financials\nParticipate in month-end project reviews\nPlan/facilitate field trade meetings to ensure project metrics are achieved\nReviews all plans, specifications and project documentation for the purposes of discrepancies and constructability review\nWork with the Project Team in the development of the Project Master schedule\nUtilizes Last Planner System and 6-week look-ahead to manage on site schedules, resources, trade commencement and material deliveries\nPlans, coordinates and participates in the project completion and handover process.\nEnsure QA/QC is managed and documented to demonstrate compliance with the Contract documents\nProactively maintains required training to meet the expectations of the role as outlined in the CBGOC HSE Training Standards Matrix\nSkills & Knowledge:\nLeads and manages resources and Clark Builders onsite workforce to maximize productivity\nDirects and facilitates training of the Clark Builders' workforce\nParticipates and contributes to individual and team performance feedback discussions\nPromotes positive morale and encourage growth opportunities through leadership responsibilities\nAbility to foresee, pivot and adjust strategies and behaviors in order to maximize project success and educate others in this scope\nStrong interpersonal and negotiating skills required to interact with a variety of stakeholders including project team, trade partners, consultants, and clients\nOutstanding communication, organizational and supervisory skills with ability to manage complex and numerous competing priorities\nStrong working knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, Word & Project\nProven skills in an interview to support project pursuits\nBuilds and aligns a team to a common goal in challenging situations\nDemonstrates/implements conflict management skills and decisive decision-making skills combined with the proven ability to consistently find creative win-win solution and / or resolutions\nStrong understanding of all relevant aspects of project financials.\nFamiliar with and can work within different types of construction contracts.\nFamiliar with all different phases of construction from startup through to closeout.\nExperienced leading a team with a safety first mentality and has a full understanding of how to understand and implement a safety program.\nQualifications:\n5+ years superintendent/relevant project site leadership experience (on-site experience mandatory)\nJourneyman trade certificate or relevant post-secondary education\nValid Class 5 Driver’s License\nKnowledge of all Prime Contract and subcontract documents, drawings, specifications, and relevant key drivers\nReady to build your career with us?
