The Safety Engineer is responsible for creating a culture of care while enforcing Clark's Safety and Health Policy, as well as, local and federal safety standards on jobsites. This role participates in the safety education in partnership with project supervisors to develop safe work plans for all phases and tasks. To us, no project is successful unless it is built safely.Responsibilities\nDrive the Clark safety culture on a project.\n\nOversee and ensure the safety of employees, trade partners, and general public.\n\nEnforce corporate and project specific safety and health programs as well as federal, state, and local safety standards.\n\nLead the review of specialized safety plans (i.e. crane, confined space, Job Action Analysis, etc.).\n\nPartner with subcontractors to ensure all documentation is submitted timely.\n\nIdentify known or potential exposures and recommend corrective action.\n\nUnderstand your project's schedule and relevant Contract Documents.\n\nDevelop, coordinate, and implement overall project specific safety programs.\n\nPartner with field supervision to ensure safety hazard mitigation measures are included in the planning ofproject construction activities.\n\nDevelop project specific safety education for jobsite personnel, including subcontractors, based uponupcoming work activities or recent at-risk trends.\n\nDrive and create a safety vision and aligns the team to deliver and achieve a safe workplace for everyone.\n\nFacilitate third party safety reviews including OSHA.\n\nCultivate a network of industry relationships to bring potential business opportunities to Clark leadership.\n\nCultivate industry relationships to help attract and recruit top talent to Clark. A mindset of \"All team members are recruiters\".\n\nExceed our stakeholders’ expectations by anticipating their needs, desires, and goals.\n\nBasic Qualifications\n2+ years of relevant construction safety experience with an undergraduate degree in safety and health (or related discipline) or demonstrated construction safety and trade experience.\n\nAbility to communicate and influence supervisors, peers, and external partners.\n\nProof of training and experience in managing crane, fall protection, excavation, scaffolds, and heavy equipment safely.\n\nStrength in managing multiple competing priorities in a deadline driven environment.\n\nAgile, energetic, data driven approach to achieving individual and organizational objectives while balancing short term and long term goals.\n\nAlignment to Clark Standards of Excellence: self-motivated, results oriented, adaptable, team player, accountable, ethical, innovative, resilient, builds relationships, builds people/teams and followership, sets direction and executes.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nOSHA 30 Hour\n\nSTSC\n\nGSP\n\n1st Aid/CPR training\n\nThe work environment and requirements described below are representative of those necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this role.\nThe Physical Side of the Role: This is an active, hands-on role. You can expect to be on your feet frequently, navigating active job sites with uneven terrain, stairs, ladders, and hoists. The work is physically demanding and requires a full range of motion, including bending, kneeling, and reaching. You’ll need to be comfortable frequently lifting and carrying materials up to 25 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. This role requires the ability to communicate effectively, as well as visual acuity for reading plans and inspecting work. The role does include desk time in the office that may require prolonged periods of sitting for tasks like computer work, document review, and meetings.\nYour Work Environment: You’ll spend a significant amount of your time on active construction sites, which means being adaptable to all kinds of weather and moderate to loud noise levels, and comfortable in elevated or confined work areas with moving mechanical equipment and with the fast-paced nature of a project in progress. You will also spend time in a typical office setting with moderate noise levels. For this role the base salary range is $40,000-$145,000. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.
