Will be responsible to modify a standard forklift to meet a customized order by adding attachments, and options. \n\nEssential Functions:\nResponsible for final assembly, repair, and modification of forklifts to meet customer order specifications\nInstall uprights and various attachments and options on forklifts\nOccasional welding tasks\nOccasional painting and prep duties\nPrepare trucks for final shipment to customer (painting, decaling, verifying options and specs on truck to ensure it matches with order.\nRework various parts to accommodate forklift requirements \nDuties will include troubleshooting, inspection, testing and repairing\nPerform Quality Inspection on material handling equipment\nMaintain records of repairs and complete all necessary paperwork associated with the documentation of all service and repairs. \nMust perform all duties within production schedule and in accordance with engineering, quality and production standards.\nMust perform all duties with minimal errors and in a safe manner.\nWill provide back up support to other departments as needed.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nWorking knowledge of electrical and/or gas automotives systems, pneumatics and hydraulics systems; \nMinimum one-year experience in complex repair & assembly on Forklifts and or other heavy machinery\nAbility to lift at least 50 lbs\nMust be able to carry out verbal and written instructions.\nMust pass a written mechanical aptitude complex Assembly Test \nGood mechanical aptitude is a must and be able to be self managed and meet production goals.\nPosition will require working overtime and dependable Attendance\nMust have basic welding and painting knowledge\nMust have forklift operator experience\nBasic computer skills and ability to read blueprints\nMust be motivated and able to work in a self directed environment\nMust be authorized to work indefinitely in the US without sponsorship\nPhysical / Environmental Conditions:\nThe position is exposed to the warehouse distribution and distribution environment which is described as follows:\nMay encounter loud noise, varying temperatures (including heat during summer and from the operation of equipment. Various machinery and equipment may generate loud noise and vibration. The incumbent may come into contact with oil, grease, paint, solvents and other potentially hazardous materials.
