Schedule: Various 8 to 12-Hour Rotating & Continental Shifts

Work Setting: On-Site

Pay Rate: $18.35 - $22.09 per hour

Overview

Paladin Security is seeking dedicated and professional Healthcare Security Guards to support hospital sites throughout the Hamilton and Halton Regions. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful impact in healthcare environments while building a rewarding career with one of Canada's leading security providers.

Successful candidates will possess strong customer service skills, maintain composure under pressure, and demonstrate professionalism when supporting patients, visitors, healthcare staff, and the community. Healthcare Security Guards play a critical role in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment while responding to emergencies and assisting with conflict resolution.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular patrols of hospital facilities, parking lots, entrances, hallways, and restricted areas
• Monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems
• Control access to restricted areas and ensure only authorized personnel gain entry
• Respond to medical emergencies, fire alarms, security incidents, and other critical situations
• Assist hospital staff during emergencies, evacuations, and crisis situations
• Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and healthcare staff
• De-escalate confrontational situations and resolve conflicts professionally
• Complete accurate incident reports, occurrence reports, and daily activity logs
• Collaborate with hospital personnel, emergency responders, and law enforcement agencies
• Enforce hospital policies, visitor procedures, and safety protocols
• Maintain a visible security presence to deter unwanted activity

Requirements

Must Have

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification from a WSIB-approved provider
• Proof of two (2) doses of COVID-19 vaccination
• Immunization records for:
• Mumps
• Measles
• Rubella
• Varicella
• Completed two-step TB skin test
• Clean-shaven face to successfully pass N95 mask fit testing requirements
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills
• Use of Force (UOF) Certification
• Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) Certification
• Legal authorization to work in Canada

Nice to Have

• Previous experience in security, healthcare security, law enforcement, military, or related fields
