Employment Type: Full-Time, Part-Time, Casual
Schedule: Various 8 to 12-Hour Rotating & Continental Shifts
Work Setting: On-Site
Pay Rate: CA$18.35 - CA$21.00 per hour
Overview
Paladin Security is seeking dedicated and professional Healthcare Security Guards to support hospital sites throughout the Niagara Region. This position offers an opportunity to build a rewarding career while helping maintain safe, secure, and welcoming healthcare environments for patients, visitors, staff, and community members.
Successful candidates will demonstrate exceptional customer service skills, professionalism under pressure, strong attention to detail, and the ability to respond effectively in dynamic healthcare settings.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of hospital buildings, parking areas, entrances, hallways, and restricted zones
- Monitor CCTV systems, alarms, and security equipment
- Control access to restricted areas and verify authorized entry
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies, fire alarms, disturbances, and security incidents
- Assist healthcare staff during emergency situations and evacuations
- Provide outstanding customer service to patients, visitors, and staff
- De-escalate conflicts and manage challenging situations professionally
- Complete detailed incident reports, occurrence reports, and daily logs
- Collaborate with hospital personnel, emergency responders, and law enforcement agencies
- Enforce hospital policies, visitor guidelines, and safety procedures
- Maintain a visible security presence to promote a safe environment
Requirements
Must Have
- Valid Ontario Security Guard License
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR Level C certification from a WSIB-approved provider
- Proof of two (2) doses of COVID-19 vaccination
- Immunization records for:
- Mumps
- Measles
- Rubella
- Varicella
- Completed two-step TB skin test
- Clean-shaven face to meet N95 mask fit testing requirements
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills
- Current Use of Force (UOF) Certification
- Current Management of Aggressive Behavior (MOAB) Certification
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
Nice to Have
- Previous experience in security, healthcare security, law enforcement, military service, or a related field

Training Program Information
Applicants who do not currently possess UOF and MOAB certifications may enroll in Paladin's certification program prior to onboarding.
- Training costs are fully covered by Paladin Security
- Six-month employment commitment required
- Training time is unpaid
