Clay is a go-to-market software company headquartered in New York City and founded in 2017. The company builds a spreadsheet-like workspace that pulls company and contact data from more than a hundred enrichment providers, then uses AI agents to research prospects and draft personalised outreach. It sells to sales and growth teams that previously stitched this work together from separate data vendors and sequencing tools.

About Clay

AI is unleashing the biggest wave of company creation in history. Clay's mission is to be the engine those companies use to grow to their full potential.

Clay predicts the next best action for your business and then helps you take it. We started by aggregating the best data for B2B companies. Then, we built the infrastructure to run any personalized campaign on top of it, including emails, ads, landing pages, and workflows that make reps more productive. Now, we're building agents that can help grow your company for you. We're already helping thousands of customers - including Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, and Visa - go to market with unique data, signals, and AI research.

In 2026, we raised a $115M Series D at $7.1B Valuation led by Wellington - and are on track to cross $200M in revenue this quarter. We also launched a $1M Scholarship fund for GTME Education.

Some things to know about us:

  • Our community includes 17,000+ customers, 200+ integration partners, 125+ agencies, 50+ Clay clubs, and 30k members on Slack.

  • Our culture is unique inside and outside of work. Our team members are also DJs, activists, writers, clowns, marathoners, skydivers, psychedelic therapists, social workers, and more.

  • All employees can work with world-class coaches who specialize in creativity, management, and more.

  • Our operating principles - including negative maintenance and non-attached action - guide our work. Read more about them here.

  • Read about us in the NYT, Forbes, First Round Review, and more.

Data Partnerships @ Clay

We're looking for a Partner Technical Engineer to join our Data & Integration Partnerships team. This role owns two mission-critical components of Clay's data marketplace: the technical quality bar for every provider, and the technical readiness of every new partner before they go live.

On the data side, you'll work with the Data team to define our end-to-end testing methodology. This includes building standard test kits and the scoring models that determine which providers are integrated, if they make the waterfall, and their relative ranking. Your testing will serve as a strategic input for margin, coverage, and partner tiering decisions across a 200+ provider portfolio.

On the partner side, you will own technical readiness for onboarding. You'll act as our technical gatekeeper-assessing a prospective partner's delivery method, auth pattern, rate limits, and data structure before commercial discussions begin, and certifying that new partners are truly integration-ready before launch.

You'll work directly with partners like Salesforce, HubSpot, Nooks, and dozens of data enrichment providers, and collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Partnerships and external partner tech teams.

What You'll Do

Ecosystem Growth

  • Act as the technical lead for the partnerships team, joining prospective partner meetings from day 0 to design the joint solution.

  • Prototype integration concepts fast enough to answer "can we actually do this?" inside a live partner conversation.

  • Design the 'build' partner motion on Clay's public API and MCP [this bullet is vague in the current draft too - one clause on what a working build motion produces would fix it].

  • Translate partner and customer feedback into roadmap priorities for Product and Engineering, and give GTM what they need to run RFPs and POCs on newly launched integrations.

Data Quality & Provider Evaluation

  • Own the evaluation system that decides which providers get integrated, which make the waterfall, and how they rank - the calls that determine what every Clay customer gets back when they run an enrichment.

  • Define the end-to-end testing methodology with the Data team: standard test kits, scoring models, and re-evaluation cadence across a 200+ provider portfolio.

  • Own the public data tests Clay publishes on phone, work email, and personal email, and keep them accurate enough to defend line by line to a partner who disagrees with their score.

  • Turn coverage gaps by geography and data type into a prioritized partner roadmap, so we pursue providers that close real holes instead of adding redundant sources.

  • Feed test results into margin, tiering, and badging decisions across the portfolio [add the stakes here if you can share them - e.g. "decisions that move [X]% of enrichment COGS"].

Partner Technical Readiness

  • Build, then automate, the technical readiness assessment every prospective partner passes before commercial discussions begin: delivery method, auth pattern, rate limits, data structure.

  • Score partners at intake and work with Partner Development to unblock or disqualify them early, instead of discovering integration problems after a term sheet [insert current cost: "which today costs us [N] weeks per deal"].

  • Scope the integration - endpoints, auth, fields, cost-per-call - before contracts are signed, so engineering inherits a spec rather than a surprise.

  • Certify partners as launch-ready and run the pre-launch technical checks.

Post-Launch Ownership

  • Monitor integration health, API performance, and data quality after launch, and resolve complex issues alongside partner technical teams.

  • Write the technical documentation and implementation guides partner developers build from.

What We're Looking For

Must-Haves

  • 3+ years of experience in a technical role (software engineering, solutions engineering, technical partnerships, or similar) working with partnerships, integrations, marketplace and/or ecosystems.

  • Deep familiarity with REST APIs, OAuth, webhooks, and modern integration patterns.

  • Experience building data quality frameworks, testing pipelines, or evaluation methodologies.

  • Proven ability to navigate third-party APIs and dense partner technical documentation.

  • Comfort with data analysis, including the ability to write SQL, build dashboards, and extract insights from messy datasets.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical audiences.

  • Self-starter mentality with a high tolerance for ambiguity and rapid context-switching.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience running structured technical vetting or readiness assessments for partner integrations.

  • Background in data enrichment, GTM tools (Clay!), or the broader RevTech ecosystem.

  • Prior experience at a high-growth B2B SaaS company.

  • Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot) and modern sales/marketing tech stacks.

  • Experience using or building on Clay.

  • Prior partnerships or business development experience.

Clay is an equal opportunity employer.
