This entry-level position focuses on performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair tasks to minimize downtime and maintain production quality. The technician will work closely with senior maintenance staff to learn and apply best practices in equipment upkeep and safety protocols. By proactively identifying potential issues and responding promptly to equipment malfunctions, the Maintenance Technician helps sustain a safe and productive manufacturing environment. Ultimately, this role supports the overall manufacturing process by maintaining operational reliability and contributing to continuous improvement efforts.\nSkills:\nThe required skills enable the Maintenance Technician Level I to effectively perform routine inspections and basic repairs, ensuring equipment operates reliably. Strong problem-solving abilities help in diagnosing issues quickly and accurately, minimizing production interruptions. The ability to read technical documents allows the technician to follow maintenance procedures and understand equipment specifications. Preferred skills such as familiarity with CMMS enhance the technician's efficiency in tracking maintenance activities and scheduling tasks. Additionally, knowledge of safety standards ensures that all work is performed in compliance with regulations, promoting a safe workplace for all employees.\nResponsibilities:\nPerform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on manufacturing equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance.\nWorks from drawings, mechanical and pneumatic/hydraulic prints, electrical diagrams, manufacturers’ printed instructions to troubleshoot and locate mechanical, hydraulic/pneumatic and electrical problems in functional and control system. Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts or materials. Perform routine preventative maintenance inspections of hydraulic/pneumatic valves, lines, connections, pumps and check micro-preventative maintenance schedule.\nVerifies operation of machine sequence. Removes, cleans and replaces main feed screw and barrel as required. Inspects parts while disassembled. Assures all heater bands elements are operable. Replaces worn out units. Rebuilds hydraulic valves and pumps as necessary. Documents all findings and measurements.\nDiagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.\nAssist in repairing or replacing defective parts and components to minimize production downtime.\nUses mechanical maintenance tools, equipment and machines as required. Uses Volt-Ohm-Ammeter for some electrical checks. Complies with all LOTO requirements.\nAssists in mold setting as needed.\nMaintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, inspections, and repairs.\nAdhere to all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.\nCollaborate with team members and supervisors to prioritize maintenance tasks and support production schedules.\nParticipate in training sessions to develop technical skills and knowledge of manufacturing equipment.\nConduct preventative maintenance, facilities maintenance, and new machinery installation/modification as required. \nOther duties as assigned. \nMinimum Qualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n6 - 12 Months in Maintenance role with emphasis on manufacturing (Injection Molding preferred) (or prior external experience).\nMust be proficient in Hydraulics, Pneumatic Controls, and Electrical. \nWorking knowledge or programming to assist in the troubleshooting of programmable controllers.\nBasic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.\nAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.\nStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.\nWillingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends if necessary.\nMust be able to pass all pre-employment screenings.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nCompletion of a technical or vocational program in industrial maintenance or a related field.\nExperience with manufacturing equipment maintenance or repair.\nFamiliarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).\nBasic welding or fabrication skills.\nKnowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards in manufacturing environments.\nPhysical Requirements:\nMust be able to stand entire shift (8+ hrs.). \nAbility to lift up to 50lbs.\nRequires manual dexterity.\nModerate physical demand involving lifting and moving of materials and equipment. \nFrequently moves from waist level to floor level. \nMonday - Friday; 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM.
