This position focuses on performing routine mechanical and electromechanical maintenance tasks, troubleshooting machinery issues, and conducting thorough inspections to prevent downtime. The technician will work closely with production teams to maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems, interpret machine schematics, and support control circuitry repairs. By maintaining optimal machine performance, the role directly contributes to product quality, safety, and overall manufacturing productivity. This entry-level position offers an opportunity to develop technical expertise in plastic machinery operation and maintenance within a dynamic manufacturing setting.\nResponsibilities:\nPerform routine mechanical and electromechanical maintenance on plastic molding machinery and related equipment.\nInspect machinery regularly to identify wear, malfunctions, or potential failures and take corrective action as needed.\nWork from drawings, mechanical and pneumatic/hydraulic prints, electrical diagrams, and manufacturers’ printed instructions to troubleshoot and locate mechanical, hydraulic/pneumatic, and electrical problems in functional and control systems. Adjust, repair, or replace defective parts or materials. \nDiagnose and troubleshoot issues in hydraulic and pneumatic systems to minimize production interruptions.\nRead and interpret machine schematics and control circuitry diagrams to guide repair and maintenance activities.\nCollaborate with production and engineering teams to support machine setup, adjustments, and preventive maintenance schedules.\nPerform routine preventative maintenance inspections of hydraulic/pneumatic valves, lines, connections, and pumps, and check the micro-preventive maintenance schedule.\nVerifies operation of machine sequence. Removes, cleans, and replaces main feed screw and barrel as required. Inspects parts while disassembled. \nAssures all heater band elements are operable. Replaces worn-out units. \nRebuilds hydraulic valves and pumps as necessary.\nUses mechanical maintenance tools, equipment, and machines as required. \nComplies with all LOTO requirements.\nAssists in mold setting as needed.\nPerforms facilities maintenance and new machinery installation/modification as required. \nAdheres to all safety requirements.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nMinimum of 12 Months in a maintenance role with emphasis on manufacturing (Injection Molding preferred).\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nBasic knowledge of mechanical maintenance and electromechanical equipment.\nFamiliarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.\nAbility to read and understand machine schematics and control circuitry diagrams.\nPrior experience or training in plastic machinery operation or plastic molding processes\nKnowledge of safety standards and best practices in manufacturing maintenance.\nMust be able to pass all pre-employment screenings.\nKnowledge and use of Microsoft Office, Word, Excel and Outlook\nEnglish language proficiency, including verbal and written communication.\nAbility to work overtime as required.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nTechnical certification or vocational training in industrial maintenance or related fields.\nProficiency in using diagnostic tools and maintenance software.\nStrong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.\nPhysical Requirements:\nMust be able to stand entire shift (8+ hrs.). \nAbility to lift up to 50lbs.\nRequires manual dexterity.\nModerate physical demand involving lifting and moving of materials and equipment. \nFrequently moves from waist level to floor level. \nSunday - Thursday; 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM.
