The Technician will be responsible for performing routine preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and minor repairs on plastic injection molds (cold or hot runner), tooling, and machinery to minimize downtime, maintain production schedules and support continuous improvement initiatives. This position involves hands-on work with various tool room equipment, overhead cranes, and forklifts. The collaboration with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Maintenance teams is essential to implement tooling improvements and ensure compliance with safety standards. Ultimately, the role contributes to the efficiency and accuracy of the 70-injection molding machine manufacturing facility, directly impacting product quality and operational success.\nDuties & Responsibilities:\nPerform preventative maintenance of single and multicavity injection molds according to established schedules.\nClean mold components, cavities, cores, slides, lifters, vents, cooling circuits, and ejector systems.\nPerform insert changeovers to prepare molds to run scheduled part configuration.\nInspect molds for wear, damage, flashing conditions, and component deterioration and replace as necessary.\nAssist in troubleshooting and repair activities of molds weighing 40 pounds to 28 tons.\nMaintain accurate mold history/records.\nPerform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on hot runner systems.\nAdhere to tool room safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment to promote safety and efficiency.\nObserves all health and safety requirements and maintains the work area in a neat and orderly condition.\nOther duties as assigned.\nMinimum Qualifications:\n1-3 years of experience in tool room of a manufacturing facility (or equivalent experience).\nAbility to follow safety procedures and work collaboratively in a manufacturing environment.\nRequired to own and maintain basic set of hand tools such as hex key sets, SAE socket sets, screwdrivers, adjustable wrench, pliers, dead blow hammers, pick and scraper set, flashlight, and toolbox.\nAbility to perform each essential duty satisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodations.\nMust understand basic mold components, A side cavity, B side core, ejector pins, core pins, slide locks, angle pins, etc.\nAbility to read and understand engineering drawings and mold prints.\nAbility to use precision measuring instruments.\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nAbility to safely handle large, intricate molds using overhead crane and fork truck.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience working with molds, tooling, and mechanical equipment.\nTechnical training or certification related to tooling or machining.\nPhysical Demands:\nMust be able to pass all pre-employment screenings.\nAbility to lift up to 50lbs.\nAbility to stand, bend, kneel, and climb throughout workday.\nAbility to work in hot, noisy manufacturing environment.\nAbility to work frequently with medium-weight material and occasionally with heavy weight material.\nMonday - Friday; 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM or 3:00 PM - 11:30 PM.
