Our work responds to local needs, ensuring solutions are inclusive, resilient to climate change and support stronger economies regionally and across Canada. \nLearn more at www.cleanfoundation.ca \n\nWhat you’ll be doing\nWe’re looking for anEducation Team Lead to join our Education and Engagement team at Clean Foundation. \nThe Education & Engagement Team develops and delivers educational initiatives to support climate awareness, environmental literacy, and community engagement across Nova Scotia. The successful candidate will be part of a team that equips learners of all ages with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to take meaningful action on climate change. \nAs the senior educator on the team, you will provide day-to-day leadership, guidance, coaching, and support to other educators while helping ensure the quality and consistency of educational programming across the province. Working closely with the Program Manager, you'll help translate priorities into action, coordinate delivery activities, support staff development, and contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment. \nYou will also lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of educational programming, with a particular focus on high school and young adult audiences. This includes creating engaging learning experiences, delivering hands-on environmental education workshops, building relationships with schools and partners, and identifying opportunities to strengthen existing programs, resources, and delivery approaches. \nThis role is ideal for someone who combines a passion for environmental education with strong leadership skills and enjoys balancing team support, program development, and hands-on delivery. \nResponsibilities\nIn this role you will be a hands-on education specialist with supervisory responsibility, supporting effective delivery by translating program priorities into clear day-to day tasks.\nYou will also:\nProvide guidance, coaching, and support to assigned team members. \nAssign and monitor tasks to ensure effective workload management and successful program delivery. \nSupport staff professional development while fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment. \nProvide educational expertise to support program planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of educational practices. \nDevelop, review, and enhance educational programs, resources, learning tools, presentations, and facilitator guides. \nEnsure educational programming is delivered with high quality, scientific accuracy, accessibility, and is aligned with learning objectives. \nLead and facilitate environmental educational programs and workshops for youth, adults, and community audiences. \nCoordinate and schedule educational initiatives including timelines, resources, deliverables, and reporting requirements. \nBuild and maintain productive relationships with schools, educators, community partners, and internal stakeholders. \nMonitor program performance, prepare reports, and identify risks and opportunities while providing recommendations to support continuous program improvement. \nOther duties as assigned \nRequirements\nWe are looking for someone who has strong facilitation and bilingual communication skills with the ability to lead a team and implement new and positive changes to our programming.\nYou are a great fit if you have:\n Post-secondary education in a relevant field (e.g., education, environmental science, sustainability, natural sciences, communication or related discipline), or equivalent combination of education and experience. \n 3 - 5 years of experience delivering educational programming, facilitation, or youth engagement activities (preferably in high-school or adult education settings). \nBilingual in French and English considered a strong asset. \nDemonstrated experience providing day-to-day work direction, coaching, feedback, or supervision to staff. \nExperience leading the development and delivery of educational programs or initiatives, particularly with alignment to curriculum frameworks. \nStrong facilitation, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences in inclusive and accessible ways. \nStrong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. \nDemonstrated ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment. \nProficiency in standard office software and virtual engagement tools. \nKnowledge of environmental education, climate change, and sustainability an asset. \nFamiliarity with clean economy businesses or career navigation resources a strong asset. \nFirst Aid certification, or ability to obtain certification. \nSuccessful completion of backcheck and vulnerable sector check. \nValid drivers license and the ability to travel to partner and event locations. \nBenefits\n$68,000-$72,500\nThis is a term contract ending August 31, 2027 with the possibility of extension.\nA successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on various factors such as skills, experience, training, and credentials, as well as other business purposes or needs.\nPerks and benefits\nFully covered health and dental insurance plan and 24/7 access to our Employee Assistance Program \nRRSP employer matching \nPaid vacation and wellness days \nYou get your birthday off \nPaid volunteer hours \nHalifax public transit subsidy\nEmployment Equity\nClean is committed to Employment Equity, and our goal is to have a diverse workforce that is representative at all job levels.
