TheAssistant General Manager of the Treatment Facility is a proactive, experienced leader responsible for working alongside the current General Manager, helping to oversee all aspects of facility operations, regulatory compliance, labor management, financial performance, and customer service. This role helps ensures the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the plant while fostering a culture of safety, development, and excellence. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, hands-on experience in wastewater treatment, and a proven ability to drive operational success.\nShift: Day Shift, Monday-Friday. Overtime and Saturdays as needed\nPay: $90,000-$120,000K DOE. 15% Annual Bonus program available\nWhy Work for Clean Harbors?\nHealth and Safety is our #1 priority and we live it 3-6-5;\n\nCompetitive wages;\n\nComprehensive health benefits coverage after 30 days of full-time employment;\n\nGroup 401K with company matching component;\n\nOpportunities for growth and development for all the stages of your career;\n\nGenerous paid time off, company paid training and tuition reimbursement;\n\nPositive and safe work environments.\n\n Facility Operations & Compliance\nMaintain and manage the wastewater facility to meet Clean Compliance standards and achieve key performance indicators (CCP KPIs).\n\nEnsure processing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste aligns with RCRA, DOT, DTSC, local POTW, and customer requirements.\n\nDevelop and maintain expertise in facility-specific wastewater treatment technologies.\n\nLabor Management & Staffing\nOversee employee scheduling, work hours, overtime, hiring, performance appraisals, and disciplinary actions.\n\nManage labor relations and ensure compliance with worker’s compensation regulations.\n\nRecommend merit increases and promotions for facility personnel.\n\nHealth & Safety\nEnforce corporate and facility-specific Health & Safety protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).\n\nParticipate in facility Health & Safety meetings and collaborate with the safety department to enhance safety standards.\n\nRegulatory Compliance\nWork with the Facility Compliance Manager to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance, including Part B RCRA permit or equivalent.\n\nFinancial Management\nOversee the profit and loss statement, ensuring operating costs, labor, materials, supplies, and SG&A expenses are on target.\n\nReview and approve facility purchasing and manage accurate, timely billing and coding of materials.\n\nLogistics & Customer Service\nCollaborate with National Logistics to coordinate outbound waste management.\n\nEnsure excellent customer service for internal stakeholders and external clients.\n\nTraining & Development\nDirect training, development, and mentoring of plant employees, preparing current and future managers for career growth.\n\nMaintenance & Facility Presentation\nSupervise facility maintenance efforts, including preventative maintenance system.\n\nEnsure the facility is clean, well-maintained, and ready for customer audits or tours.\n\nCross-Functional Collaboration\nBuild and maintain effective working relationships with Field Service, Technical Services, and Logistics management teams.\n\n Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, Business or a related field is required.\n\n5+ years in plant operations supervision or management roles is required.\n\nAlternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.\n\nStrong organizational skills and self-motivation.\n\nProven leadership and interpersonal communication skills.\n\nAbility to work effectively in a team environment.\n\nWorking knowledge of environmental statutes, regulations, and compliance requirements.\n\nClean Harbors is an equal opportunity employer.\nClean Harbors is committed to providing access, equal opportunity and reasonable accommodation for individuals with disabilities in employment, its services, programs, and activities.
