Additional duties include painting, repacking drums, assembling furniture, and assisting with contractor parking access.\nWe are seeking a dependable, safety-conscious individual with professional work experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or facility maintenance, along with practical experience operating outdoor maintenance equipment and forklifts.\nCandidates should have experience performing these duties in a professional work environment. Personal residential lawn care alone does not satisfy the preferred professional groundskeeping experience.\nThis position is covered under a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Work schedule and hourly pay are governed by the union contract.\nWork Schedule (per CBA)\nFour consecutive 12-hour day shifts (5:30 AM - 5:30 PM)\nFour days off (on-call)\nFour consecutive 12-hour day shifts (5:30 AM - 5:30 PM)\nFour days off (off-call)\nRotating schedule continues\nHourly Wage (per CBA): $21.30/HR\nWhy work for Clean Harbors?\nHealth and Safety is our #1 priority, and we live it 3-6-5!\nCompetitive wages\nComprehensive health benefits coverage after 30 days of full-time employment\nGroup 401K with company matching component\nEmployee Stock Purchase Plan\nOpportunities for growth and development for all the stages of your career\nGenerous paid time off, company paid training and tuition reimbursement\nPositive and safe work environment\n Responsibilities\nPerform routine grounds maintenance, including mowing, weed eating, vegetation removal, and general upkeep of facility yards and outdoor areas.\nSafely operate forklifts to load, unload, transport, and organize materials and equipment throughout the facility.\nMaintain overall facility appearance, cleanliness, and upkeep through general maintenance, housekeeping, and labor activities.\nOperate lawn mowers, weed eaters, reciprocating saws, and other hand and power tools safely and effectively.\nPerform painting and other facility maintenance or improvement projects as assigned.\nAssist with repacking drums and handling materials in accordance with company procedures and safety requirements.\nAssemble, move, and arrange furniture and other facility equipment as needed.\nProvide gate coverage for contractor parking, including monitoring access and directing contractors to designated parking areas.\nPerform general labor activities such as sweeping, shoveling, cleaning, organizing materials, and maintaining work areas.\nFollow all applicable Health and Safety policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and equipment safety guidelines.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.\nWork under the direction of the Plant Operations Manager or designated supervisor.\nPerform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.\nWhat does it take to work for Clean Harbors?\nRequired Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED.\nAbility to follow directions, take initiative, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.\nAbility to safely use grounds maintenance equipment, hand tools, and power tools following appropriate training and authorization.\nAbility to perform physically demanding work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.\nAbility to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and meet applicable respirator fit-testing and facial-hair requirements.\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, bend, stoop, shovel, sweep, and stand for extended periods, with reasonable accommodation where applicable.\nAbility to work the assigned rotating 12-hour schedule and required on-call rotations.\nPreferred Qualifications\nProfessional, hands-on work experience performing groundskeeping, landscaping, yard maintenance, or general facility upkeep.\nPrevious employment involving regular operation of lawn mowers, weed eaters, and other outdoor grounds maintenance equipment.\nAt least 6 months of actual, hands-on forklift operating experience in a workplace setting.\nForklift certification preferred but not required.
