operation, this role provides operational leadership and support across a diverse geographic region including Brisbane, Sunshine Coast, Toowoomba, Bundaberg, Crestmead, and regional areas extending west to Rolleston and south into Northern New South Wales.\nThe Operations Supervisor will work closely with drivers, site personnel, customers, and contractors to ensure the safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of used oil collection services while maintaining Cleanaway's high standards of safety, operational excellence, and customer service.\nThis role requires regular travel throughout the region, including scheduled site visits, inspections and operational support activities at our Toowoomba and Crestmead facilities, as well as ongoing engagement with drivers based in Toowoomba, Narangba and Crestmead.\nYour new role:\nSafety, Compliance & Risk Management\nConduct and document Toolbox Talks and daily HSE conversations.\nLead and assist with incident investigations and corrective action implementation.\nComplete 1st Line of Defence Audits, Vehicle Pre/Post Check Audits and Fatigue Audits.\nPlan and coordinate Drug & Alcohol Screening programs.\nConduct Workplace Inspections and Safety Operations Compliance Activities.\nComplete Safe Operations and Environmental Compliance assessments.\nMaintain accurate MyOSH reporting and monitor outstanding corrective actions.\nEnsure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR), HVNL, EPA requirements and Cleanaway procedures.\nSupport operational sites in maintaining audit readiness and housekeeping standards.\nFleet, Equipment & Asset Management\nMonitor vehicle utilisation, mileage, operating hours, and maintenance requirements.\nCoordinate vehicle inspections, defect management, and maintenance scheduling.\nManage fire extinguisher testing and hose inspection programs.\nConduct Tank Farm Visual Inspections and maintain supporting records.\nSupport troubleshooting and operational equipment issues across the region.\nMonitor fleet availability and support operational continuity during breakdowns and maintenance events.\nOperations Management\nMonitor daily collection volumes, fleet utilisation, and operational performance metrics.\nManage and maintain tank inventory records, dip sheet reporting, and product storage data.\nSupport rostering, leave coverage and workforce planning activities.\nCoordinate contractor management requirements and site inductions, including third-party logistics providers.\nAssist with budget management, cost control, and operational reporting.\nIdentify and implement continuous improvement opportunities across the operation.\nSupport oil movement planning and operational coordination across the East Coast network.\nDriver Development & Operational Support\nConduct operator ride-alongs and driver assessments.\nReview training requirements, competencies, and refresher training compliance.\nProvide practical coaching and support to drivers and operational personnel.\nAssist frontline teams with operational challenges, equipment issues and customer requirements.\nPromote a positive safety culture and strong operational discipline across all sites.\nCustomer & Stakeholder Engagement\nManage customer service issues and collection escalations.\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, and operational stakeholders.\nSupport service delivery performance while ensuring safety and compliance requirements are maintained.\nWork collaboratively with internal teams to achieve operational and customer outcomes.\nYour skills and experience:\nPrevious experience in transport, logistics, waste, environmental services, or a related operational industry.\nDemonstrated supervisory or leadership experience.\nA strong mechanical aptitude and practical problem-solving capability.\nPrevious truck driving experience or a sound understanding of heavy vehicle operations.\nKnowledge of pumping systems, hydraulic equipment, PTO systems, and loading/unloading operations.\nExperience conducting audits, inspections, and compliance activities.\nUnderstanding of HVNL, Chain of Responsibility and workplace safety requirements.\nStrong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.\nIntermediate to advanced Microsoft Office and reporting system experience.\nWhy
