UGSI Solutions, Inc., through its various operating subsidiaries, is one of the most dynamic and fastest growing companies in the water infrastructure market.\nUnder the direction of the Purchasing Manager, the Buyer/Planner will perform various purchasing/planning and administrative tasks. The tasks will involve supporting functions for the Manufacturing and Finance departments. This position is based at the Company’s Milpitas, CA facility.\nEssential Job Functions\nPlanning\nAssist with organizing inventory;\nEvaluate and recommend solutions to inventory issues;\nMaintain database fields that control the timing and quantity of inventory on the basis of demand and forecasts;\nCoordinate the procurement of raw materials;\nMaintain inventory accuracy;\nDispose inventory when it becomes obsolete due to product life cycle or engineering changes;\nExercise discretion and independent judgement in day-to-day job duties;\nRecord transaction entries in system to maintain inventory records.\nPurchasing\nAnalyze material demand, identify shortages, and expedite orders;\nBuy and manage raw material requirements.\nAssist Manufacturing with manufacturing, purchase and sales orders and shipment activities;\nProvide order lead time guidance to Customer Service and Project Management as required;\nSetup new item numbers;\nExercise discretion and independent judgement in day-to-day job duties;\nAssist Finance with resolving invoicing discrepancies and initial vendor set-ups;\nRequired Qualifications\nAdministrative experience in a professional setting;\nPrior planning/purchasing experience;\nStrong organizational skills;\nStrong verbal and written communication skills and comfortable speaking on the telephone;\nAbility to work well independently with minimal supervision;\nData entry experience;\nFamiliarity with ERP systems in general\nProficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, and Word; and\nAbility to multi-task and support multiple departments.\nPreferred Qualifications\nSalesforce experience;\nExperience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains ERP system; and\nPhysical Demands\nAbility to sit for long periods of time;\nSpecific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus; and\nAbility to look at computer monitors for much of the workday.\nWork Environment\nApproximately 80% Office Setting; and\nApproximately 20% Light Industrial - May be exposed to areas of high noise levels and industrial facilities.\nAppropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions.\nPlease note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
