Analyze and reconcile balance sheet and income statement accounts.\nMAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nPrepare MGA reconciliations and follow up with MGAs on reconciling differences\nResponsible for the reconciliation of claims paid and reserves with the claims ledger and general ledger.\nReconciliation of other program related accounts i.e Commission, Fees, Premium Receivables, Premium Paybles. \nResponsible for reconciling reinsurance transactions including reinsurance recoverables and funds held accounts.\nPrepare and post journal entries.\nContact Managing General Agents (MGAs) to develop business relations to solve situations regarding account receivables and differences of premiums and commissions; and obtain necessary documents to process them in our system.\nResponsible for the preparation of reinsurance bourderaux as applicable.\nMay assist the EVP and CFO in other tasks and special accounting and finance projects\nEDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS\nBachelor's degree in accounting or finance\n3+ years of relevant business experience \nProperty and casualty insurance experience is a plus. \nProven knowledge of GAAP and STAT accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations.\nAdvanced computer skills in MS Office, accounting software and databases.\nHigh attention to detail and accuracy.\nStrong organizational skills\nPerformance and results oriented with proven execution with tight deadlines\nIntermediate to advance MS Excel skills\nSKILLS\nFully Bilingual in English and Spanish. Ability to read, and analyze, insurance transactions. \nAbility to effectively present information in an articulate, persuasive, and decisive manner.\nAbility to handle mathematical calculations.\nAbility to define problems; collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. \nThe responsibilities of this position require continuous interaction with internal and external stakeholders. \nAbility to work and interact with departments throughout the organization \nTime management skills. \nExcellent attention to detail. \nWork well in a team environment\nAble to maintain confidential information. \nFast learner\nThis description is intended to provide only basic guidelines for meeting job requirements.
