In this role, you will build the next-generation infrastructure that underpins all systems at CLEAR. The ideal candidate for this role will approach challenges with an eye toward reliability, simplicity, and scalability.\n What You'll Do:\nDevelop and maintain a streamlined process for engineers to effortlessly build and deploy scalable and reliable software-defined networking solutions on AWS.\nEnhance our compute platform (Kubernetes) by integrating new functionalities and features, focusing on AWS networking services and concepts such as VPCs, Route Tables, Security Groups (SGs), ALBs/ELBs, and Route53, as well as implementing Kubernetes networking solutions like service mesh (Istio) to optimize service communication and management.\nCollaborate across engineering teams to advocate for and implement best practices in observability, utilizing tools like Splunk or Datadog to ensure robust network monitoring.\nAct as a product owner for our infrastructure, collecting feedback and requirements from engineering teams to address pain points and develop solutions, particularly in the realm of AWS networking and cloud-native design principles.\n What you're great at:\n6+ years of extensive experience in infrastructure and platform development, particularly in software-defined networking and AWS cloud services.\nProficient in writing production-gradesoftware using modern languages such as Python, with a strong understanding of Kubernetes and container orchestration tools like EKS and ECS.\nWell-versed in cloud-native design principles and AWS networking services, including VPC design, SGs, NATGWs, ALBs/ELBs, Route53, and security features like AWS Network Firewall and AWS WAF.\nExperienced with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Cloudformation, and possess a strong product and user-centric mindset.\nCommitted to continuously improving systems and environments, with a solid understanding of networking concepts (ISO Layer, BGP, RIP, etc.) and Linux systems (Bash, Filesystems, etc.).\nEquipped with an understanding of and experience with traditional networking appliances and equipment, such as Palo Alto, to effectively maintain connectivity at scale.\nSkilled in configuring and managing Nginx as a reverse proxy and load balancer to optimize application delivery and performance.\nExperienced in implementing and managing API Gateway solutions to facilitate secure and scalable API management.\nKnowledgeable in deploying and managing cloud solutions such as Cloudflare or Fastly to enhance web performance and security through CDN and edge computing capabilities.\nOur process:\nWe keep a swift process with shorter timelines that make the best use of everyone’s time. The base salary range for this role is $175,000 - $215,000, depending on levels of skills and experience.\nThe base salary range represents the low and high end of CLEAR’s salary range for this position. Salaries will vary depending on various factors which include, but are not limited to location, education, skills, experience and performance.
